Surah Al Isra – Ayah 25

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah Al-Isra Ayah 25_*

*_”Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you are righteous, then indeed, He is Most Forgiving to those who often turn (to Him).”(25)_*

(Please also read the previous two Ayah S17:A23 & A24).

The Ayah makes it clear that Allah Azzawajal knows best what is moving in our hearts, whether we are truly devoted to our parents with love and full compassion, or whether it is only an outward statement, while in our hearts we are actually disobedient and rebellious.‼️ _The collective morality of society should make it incumbent on children to be grateful and respectful to their parents, they should serve them as they nursed and brought them up in their childhood. Above aII, this verse is not merely a moral recommendation but is the basis of the rights and powers of parents, the details of which we find in the Books of Hadith and Fiqh._

_Respectful behaviour and obedience to parents, and observance of their rights comprise the most important element of the material education and moral training in the Islamic Society and civilization. Incidentally, all these things have determined for ever the principle that the Islamic State shall make the family life sound and secure by laws, administrative regulations and educational policy and *prevent its disintegration.*_

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To understand that after Allah Azzawajal’s right, the greatest of aII the human rights is the right of parents; therefore, the children should obey and serve and respect their parents. *”Let’s not forget that, It is the heart, and its hidden and secret motives by which we are judged; for Allah Azzawajal knows them all”.*_

—To understand the word *Al-Awwabin* meaning those who turn to HIM used here carries the sense of *At- Tawabbin* those who repent before HIM. If we have committed any faults in our treatment of our parents, then let’s seek Allah Azzawajal’s forgiveness by repenting and mend ourself for future for Allah Azzawajal accepts the repentance of those who become righteous, and forgives their faults.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to give our best to our parents and forgive our shortcomings and faults. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

JazaK Allâhu Khair!
