Daily Qur’an & Hadith 15 Jan 2021 (01 Jamadi us Sani 1442)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[12].Surah Yusuf [Joseph]

Ayat 37. He said: “No food will come to you (in wakefulness or in dream) as your provision, but I will inform (in wakefulness) its interpretation before it (the food) comes. This is of that which my Lord has taught me. Verily, I have abandoned the religion of a people that believe not in Allah and are disbelievers in the Hereafter (i.e. the Kan’aniun of Egypt who were polytheists and used to worship sun and other false deities).

Tafseer of Surah Yusuf (PBUH) Ayat 37. He said: “Before any food comes (in due course) to feed either of you, I will surely reveal to you the truth and meaning of this ere it befall you. That is part of the (Duty) which my Lord hath taught me. I have (I assure you) abandoned the ways of a people that believe not in Allah and that (even) deny the Hereafter. The dream of one foreboded good to him, and of the other, evil to him. It was good that each should prepare for his fate. But Joseph’s mission was far higher than that of merely foretelling events. He must teach the truth of Allah and the faith in the Hereafter to both men. He does that first before he talks of the events of their phenomenal life. And yet he does it so tenderly. He does not tantalize them. In effect he says, ‘You shall learn everything before our next meal, but let me first teach you Faith!” Joseph does not preach a pompous sermon, or claim any credit to himself for placing himself at their service. He is just doing his duty, and the highest good he can do to them is to teach them Faith. These men were Egyptians, perhaps steeped in materialism, idolatry, and polytheism. He must teach them the Gospel of Unity. And he does it simply, by appealing to his own experience: 1 have found the Lord good: in prosperity and adversity I have been supported by Faith: in life no man can live by error or evil: perhaps one of you has done some wrong for which you find yourself here: perhaps one of you is innocent: in either case, will you not accept Faith and live forever?

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Umamah Sudaiy bin Ajlan Al-Bahili (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) said: “Nothing is dearer to Allah than two drops and two marks: A drop of tears shed out of fear of Allah and a drop of blood shed in Allah’s way. Regarding the two marks, they are: Marks left in the Cause of Allah and a mark left in observing one of the obligatory act of worship of Allah, the Exalted”. [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 1669].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Yusuf Ayat 37. “Verily, I have abandoned the religion of a people that believe not in Allah and are disbelievers in the Hereafter” This Hadith mentions the merits of the following:

  1. Weeping out of fear of Allah.
  2. The blood which flows in the way of Allah.
  3. The marks of injuries which are left on the bodies of those who take part in Jihad.
  4. The marks of wounds received in the performance of obligations.
