Daily Qur’an & Hadith 22 Feb 2021 (09 Rajab 1442)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[12].Surah Yusuf [Joseph]

Ayat 104. And no reward you (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH). ask of them (those who deny your Prophethood) for it, it(the Qur’an) is no less than a Reminder and an advice unto the ‘Alamin (men and jinns).

Ayat 105. And how many a sign in the heavens and the earth they pass by, while they are averse there from.

Tafseer of Surah Yusuf Ayat 104 & 105. And no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less than a message for all creatures. The Divine Message was priceless; it was not for the Messenger’s personal profit, nor did he ask of men any reward for bringing it for their benefit. It was for all creatures—literally, for all the worlds, as explained in 1:2.  (see also 34:47 and 36:21). 105. And how many Signs in the heavens and the earth do they pass by? Yet they turn (their faces) away from them! Not only can we learn through Scripture of the working of Allah’s providence in human history and the history of individual souls, hut also His Signs are scattered literally throughout nature—throughout Creation—for all who have eyes to see. And yet man is so arrogant that he turns away his very eyes from them!

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-Aas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The one who was devoted to the Qur’an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.”

[Abu Dawud Hadith # 1464 and At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2914].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Yusuf Ayat 104. “it (the Qur’an) is no less than a Reminder and an advice” This Hadith mentions the merit of those who commit the Qur’an (whole or part thereof) to memory (Huffaz). The word `ascend’ here means to rise in ranks in the Jannah. The more one remembers the Qur’an, the more clear and distinct is his recitation of it, the higher would be the status that he will go on attaining through its blessings. Thus, this Hadith provides inducement for the remembrance of the Qur’an and tells us that its frequent recitation is a means to attain higher ranks in Jannah.
