اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
اَعُوْذُبِااللّٰہِ مِنَ الشَّیْطٰنِ الرَّجِيْم
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Hijr Ayat 32 & 33_*
*قَالَ يٰۤاِبۡلِيۡسُ مَا لَـكَ اَلَّا تَكُوۡنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِيۡنَ.(32)*
*قَالَ لَمۡ اَكُنۡ لِّاَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهٗ مِنۡ صَلۡصَالٍ مِّنۡ حَمَاٍ مَّسۡنُوۡنٍ.(33)*
*_Allah said: O Iblees, what is the matter with you, that you were not among those who prostrated?(32)_*
*_Iblees said: I am not one to prostrate to a human being whom You created from sounding clay, made from black mud moulded into shape.(33)_*
(خدا نے فرمایا) کہ ابلیس! تجھے کیا ہوا کہ تو سجدہ کرنے والوں میں شامل نہ ہوا.(32)
(اس نے) کہا کہ میں ایسا نہیں ہوں کہ انسان کو جس کو تو نے کھنکھناتے سڑے ہوئے گارے سے بنایا ہے سجدہ کروں.(33)
When Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la asked Iblis What prevented him from prostrating to the one whom I created directly with My own Hands, that is, I honoured him and favoured him in this way, which was not given to anyone else, but you disobeyed My command and showed no respect to Me❓ *Iblis said justifying his objection to his Lord: I am better than Adam*, then he tried to prove this false claim by saying *”You created me from fire and You created him from clay”*, which implies that the one who was created from fire is superior to the one who was created from clay, because fire is able to rise above clay.
_Iblīs here claims for himself a *private opinion and a right of discretion* to consider whether to comply with an order given by Allah Azzawajal or not. He wants to base his action on what appears to him to be justifiable._
*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that to consider oneself superior than others is a bigger crime than disobedience. When a clear order is given by Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la no one has the right of discretion‼️. *The only thing that is left is complete obedience and perfect compliance*. However, fully aware that Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la is the Creator and Sustainer of all creation and who controls the universe to the extent that nothing takes place without HIS permission and consent, Iblīs refuses to comply, justifying his disobedience by his own logic. *Iblis the cursed one looked at the origin of creation not at the honor bestowed, that is, Allah creating Adam with HIS Hand and blowing life into him.* Shaytan made a false comparison when confronted by Allah’s command.❗
His (Iblis) claim that the fire is more honored than mud was also *false*, because _*mud* has the qualities of wisdom, forbearance, patience and assurance, mud is where plants grow, flourish, increase, and provide good_. To the contrary, *fire* has the qualities of burning, recklessness and hastiness. Therefore, the origin of creation directed Shaytan to failure, while the origin of Adam led him to return to Allah with repentance, humbleness, obedience and submission to HIS command, admitting his error and seeking Allah’s forgiveness and pardon for it.
*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to remain humble and comply to HIS commands. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
