Surah Al Hijr – Ayah 36 37 & 38

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Hijr Ayat 36, 37 & 38_*

*_Iblees said: O my Lord, grant me respite until the day they are resurrected.(36)_*

*_Allah said: You are among those who are granted respite,(37)_*

*_Until the day of the time appointed.(38)_*

When the enemy of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la proclaimed his enmity towards HIM and towards Adam (AS) and his progeny, he asked Allah Azzawajal for respite until the Day of Resurrection.‼️ *He requests respite to the Day of Judgement, but not to have the opportunity to repent of his sin which he has committed in the presence of Allah Almighty, but rather to exact revenge on Adam AS and his offspring so that he would be able to mislead whomever he could do so.* _Because Allah Azzawajal’s wisdom dictated that HIS slaves were to be tried and tested, in order to distinguish the truthful from the liars, those who would obey HIM from those who would obey HIS enemy, HE SWT granted this request and said: You are among those who are granted respite._

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that the only purpose of Iblis who has taken special permission to remain till a particular time is misleading humans.‼️
When Iblis was certain that he is one of those who are doomed, as well as his being arrogant and being ungrateful to his Lord, he resolved to mislead whomever he could of the slaves of Allah, so that they would be with him in Hell.
*He hates mankind, who are the children of Adam (AS), and he is hostile towards them because he is cursed and has been banished from the mercy of Allah because of his refusal to prostrate to their father Adam (AS).* Hence Allah has warned His slaves against him and has said
_“Surely, Shaytan (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.” [35:6]_

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la protect us from the shaitan and save us from fire of jahannum. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

JazaK Allâhu khair!
