Surah Al Hijr – Ayah 67, 68 & 69

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Hijr Ayat 67, 68 & 69_*

*_The people of the city came, exulting at the news [of the arrival of those young men].(67)_*

*_Loot said: These are my guests, so do not put me to shame.(68)_*

*_Fear Allah, and do not disgrace me.(69)_*

When the people of Lut(AS), heard that he had in his home some handsome guests, they were overjoyed. Their evil desires arose to commit homosexual acts with the guests, which was a such a immoral habit they always did.

_Seeing the behavior of his people, Lut(AS) said to them, “Indeed, the young men you come and invite to commit lewd acts are my guests._

_I have to respect and honor my guests, don’t do lewd things with them, because your actions will bring shame to me. Fear Allah Azzawajal, protect yourselves from HIS torment, and do not henious acts with them.”_

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that *Shame* is a natural part of every human being. *When they lose their shame, they are willing to do anything*. The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alahi wa Sallam is said to curse those who have no shame.❗
From Abu Mas’ud, ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amr Al Anshari Al Badri, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: _”Indeed, among the expressions that people know from the previous prophetic sayings is: “If you are not ashamed, do all you can.” [Sahih Bukhari no: 6120)_

—The entire population of the town had degenerated morally. *The pity is that there had remained not a single person among them to make a protest against such a heinous sin.* _Moreover, this shows that all of them, as a community, had totally lost every sense of decency, and they felt no shame at all to make such a wicked demand on him openly. The very fact, that they felt no hesitation in making such a wicked demand brazen facedly from a pious and holy man like Prophet Lut(AS), shows that the heinous crime was so common among them that they would not spare anyone._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la strengthen our Imaan and grant us the ability enjoin the good and forbid the evil. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

JazaK Allâhu khair!
