Surah Al Isra – Ayah 45

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Isra Ayah 45_*

*_When you recite the Qur’an, We place between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter a hidden barrier.(45)_*

The leaders of the Quraysh, the Prophet’s own tribesmen who rejected his call, tried hard to prevent their hearts and souls from responding positively to the truth of the Qur’ān. As a result, Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la raised an invisible curtain between them and the Prophet SAWS, and placed coverings on their hearts preventing them from understanding it.‼️ *Their ears were in a state similar to deafness, which meant that they could not understand its message.* _When believers read and understand the Quran it penetrates their heart and will awaken their soul and Allah ﷻ will place a hijab between them and those who do not believe in the hereafter from diverting or misleading the true believers. Hijab is a barrier to reaching something. It can be anything that blocks the way or that blocks the view.

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand the psychological fact which Allah Azzawajal has stated in this Ayah very clearly that there are groups who are prevented from understanding the Qur’an because they themselves do not want to.‼️ According to the Divine law those people who do not believe in the Hereafter, cannot benefit from the Qur’an. Allah Azzawajal has attributed this law to Himself, as if to say, *_”The natural result of disbelief in the Hereafter is that the heart of such a man becomes dull and his ears become deaf to the Message of the Qur’an, for Qur’an bases its invitation on the belief in the Hereafter._* Therefore, there is a veil for them that prevents them from understanding. The matter is similar to what Allah ﷻ mentioned in another Ayaj through HIS words:

*_They said, “Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition.”(Fussilat: 5)_*

_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la increase our belief in the Hereafter and grant us a better understanding of the Qur’an and save us from going astray. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._

JazaK Allâhu khair!
