Surah Al-Zumar Ayat 71 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (31 Aug 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[39].Surah Al-Zumar [The Groups]

Ayat 71. And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups, till, when they reach it, the gates thereof will be opened (suddenly like a prison at the arrival of the prisoners). And its keepers will say, “Did not the Messengers come to you from yourselves, reciting to you the Verses of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of this Day of yours?” They will say: “Yes, but the Word of torment has been justified against the disbelievers!”

Tafseer of Surah Al Zumar Ayat 71. The Unbelievers will be led to Hell in a crowd: until, when they arrive there, its gates will be opened. And its keepers will say, “Did not messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing to you the Signs of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of This Day of yours?” The answer will be: “True: but the Decree of Punishment has been proved true against the Unbelievers!” Crowds: this is the word which gives the keynote to the Surah. If the soul does not stand to its own convictions or search out the Truth by itself, it will be classed with the crowds that go to Perdition! The Keepers may be supposed to be angels, who know nothing of the conditions of evil on this earth, and are surprised at such crowds coming to the “Evil Abode” (Cf. 40:49). Cf. 10:33. The answer is perhaps given by other angels: ‘yes; messengers were sent to them from among themselves, to warn them and proclaim to them Mercy through repentance; but the decree of Allah, which warned them of punishment, has now come true against them, for they rebelled and were haughty; they rejected Truth, Faith, and Mercy!’ (Cf. 67:6-11)..

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Uthman bin `Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 61, Hadith # 545].

Lesson: This Hadith tells us the excellence of people who learn the Quran and then spend their time teaching to others.
