*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 51_*
*_Allah has said: Do not take two gods [for worship], for He is but One God, so fear none but Me.(51)_*
اور خدا نے فرمایا ہے کہ دو دو معبود نہ بناؤ۔ معبود وہی ایک ہے۔ تو مجھ ہی سے ڈرتے رہو.(51)
This Ayah is a clear declaration of Allah’s unity and warning against polytheism.‼️ *Allahﷻ reminds us not to take two gods. Do not make a god other than Allah ﷻ*. _Allah ﷻ says *two gods’* because there are many religions that have two gods for example *the concept of dualism (two gods) is particularly found among the Parsis (Zoroastrians)*. They have Yazdan as their god of good and Ahrman as their god of evil. The struggle between the good and the evil in the world has been philosophically interpreted by them in this way that the god of good is separate and the god of evil is separate, as if there is a constant struggle between the two gods and man is unaccountably being hit in their crossfire. When these two gods have not stopped their fighting as yet, how can then man be free from fighting in the world? This concept brings to fore the weakness of both the gods, for neither of the gods is powerful enough to subdue the other one, and therefore, nothing then remains for man except disappointment. What a poor concept of god that can be found in a religion! Immaculate is He and above what they say, Exalted and Great!_
In this Ayah Allah ﷻ has said the word *ائنَينِ* which means *two*, while the word *إِلٰهَينِ* already means *two gods’* This is as an added affirmation, that is to never take a god other than Allahﷻ.
*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that Allah’sﷻ oneness must be a concept of complete and perfect clarity in the mind of every believer.‼️ *This has been a constant command of Allahﷻ and HEﷻ has preserved it completely in the Qur’an.*
_The belief of more than one god is false from every aspect, though any person may be believing in dualism, or any person in trinity or any person may have invented umpteen number of gods—all these inventions are the example of ignorance and folly._
–To understand that the number *two* that is mentioned in the Ayah is the next number after One and it is smallest therefore when taking a god besides Allahﷻ is prohibited then increasing their numbers is definitely foolish and against the fitrah of humans.
This Ayah serves as a reminder of:
1. The fundamental principle of Islam: worshiping only Allahﷻ.
2. The danger of associating partners with Allahﷻ(shirk).
3. The importance of devotion and loyalty to Allahﷻ alone.
4. Fear and reverence: Fear only Allahﷻ, the One God.
*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la strengthen our Imaan and save us from falling into the trap of shirk and bidah. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
JazaK Allâhu khair!
