Surah An Nahl – Ayah 78

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 78_*

*_”And Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when you knew nothing, and gave you the hearing and sight and the hearts, so that you might give thanks.”(78)_*

_This is to remind us that when we were born, we were completely helpless and ignorant than the young-one of an animals, but Allah gave us *”ears to hear”, “eyes to see” and “hearts to feel and love,* as centre of affection.” These have enabled us to acquire every kind of information and knowledge to carry on our worldly affairs efficiently._

_So much so that these sensory faculties are the only means which help us attain so much progress as to rule over everything on the earth._

*_Act for the Day is:_* to notice once again, as everywhere in the Qur’an, the power of hearing always precedes that of sight, for without hearing, one cannot speak, and unable to speak, one is unable to learn, whereas being without the sight of eye is comparatively less disadvantageous.‼️ *Again, hearing comes in singular but sight in plural, because in a wider view, one can see several things at a time, whereas one can never hear more than one voice: two complete sentences of fair length from two speakers, at one time.*

_To understand that it will be total disobedience/ingratitude on our part if we *”hear everything with our ears except the Word of Allah”, “see everything with our eyes except the Signs of Allah” and “consider seriously about all the matters of our life, except our Creator/Benefactor Who has blessed us with these favours”.*_

_”We should be grateful to Allah, by always remembering Him, Who has bestowed upon us such blessings as *’eyes, ears, and hearts’,* which are considered the centers of the affection & intelligence. We should therefore give thanks to Allah, not to imaginary deities or powers or other forces._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always remain grateful for HIS blessings and save us from ingratitude and kufr. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

JazaK Allâhu Khair!
