[32]. Surah As-Sajdah [The Prostration]
Ayat 28. They say: “When will this AlFath (Decision) be (between us and you, i.e. the Day of Resurrection), if you are telling the truth?”
Ayat 29. Say: “On the Day of AlFath (Decision), no profit will it be to those who disbelieve if they (then) believe! Nor will they be granted a respite.”
Ayat 30. So turn aside from them (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) and await, verily they (too) are awaiting.
Tafseer of Surah Al Sajdah (The Prostration) Ayat 28, 29 and 30. They say: “When will this decision be, if you are telling the truth?” The Unbelievers may say: “If all this which you say is true, tell us when this final restoration of Realities, Life and true Values will come about.” The answer is: “If you mean that you will postpone your repentance and reform till then, it will be no use: it will be too late for repentance, and no respite will be granted then: this is the Respite, and this is your chance.” Ayat 29. Say: “On the Day of Decision, no profit will it be to Unbelievers if they (then) believe! Nor will they be granted a respite.” Ayat 30. So turn away from them, and wait: they too are waiting. Read 6:158 as commentary on this. There it is said to the Unbelievers: “Wait ye: we too are waiting.”Here the Righteous one is told: “Wait (thou): they too are waiting.” The reversal of the order is appropriate: in each case the person (or persons) addressed is mentioned first. Cf. also 7:71.
*These are the last Ayats of 32nd Surah of Al-Quran Surah Sajdah; this Surah contains 30 Ayats, Insha Allah from tomorrow 33rd Surah of Al-Quran Surah Al-Ahzab will start.
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Said Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, “How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it”. He [SAWW](PBUH) perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he [SAWW](PBUH) told them to seek comfort through reciting: `Hasbunallah WA ni`mal-Wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]”.
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2431]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah As-Sajda Ayat 29. “On the Day of AlFath (Decision), no profit will be to those who disbelieve if they (then) believe! Nor will they be granted a respite.”
1. This Hadith tells us about the fear of Allah and the fright of the hereafter entertained by the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) and his Companions. It teaches us how, in spite of being innocent and having the assurance of the forgiveness of Allah, they were always fearful of Allah and the horrors of the Day of Resurrection. As against them, we are immersed in sins, neglect and violate the Divine injunctions day and night but even then we have neither the fear of Allah nor the fright of the Day of Resurrection.
2. In the event of fear and anxiety one should seek the help of Allah and frequently recite the Verse of the Noble Qur’an “Hasbunallahu WA Ni`mal Wakil” [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us).]” (3:173).
