English Translation of Al-Quran
[35].Surah Fatir [The Originator of Creation]
Ayat 3. O mankind! Remember the Grace of Allah upon you! Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the sky (rain) and the earth? Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turning away (from Him)?
Tafseer of Surah Fatir Ayat 3. O men! Call to mind the grace of Allah unto you! Is there a creator, other than Allah, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He: how then are ye deluded away from the Truth? As the primal Cause of all things is Allah, an appeal is made to man to turn to Allah instead of running after false fancies. Allah is not only the source, but the center of all life and activity, and all affairs return to Him. The world is sustained, and human life is sustained, by Allah’s grace and providence. “Sustenance” is to be taken, in Quranic language, for all that helps to maintain and develop every aspect of life, physical and spiritual. It would be the height of folly, then, for man to ignore Allah’s gracious Message, as explained in His Revelation.
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “When one of you supplicates, let him be decisive and he should not say: `O Allah, bestow upon me such and such if You wish’, because no one has the power to compel Him.”
[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 75, Hadith # 350].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Fatir Ayat 3. “How then are you turning away (from Him)? ” One should pray to Allah with full confidence that He will answer his prayers. One should also persist in praying and never give in to despair.
