[31].Surah Luqman [Luqman]
Ayat 7. And when Our Verses (of the Qur’an) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment.
Tafseer of Surah Luqman Ayat 7. When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. Such men behave as if they have heard nothing of serious import, or laugh at serious teaching. The loss will be their own. They will miss the higher things of fife and be left out of Allah’s blessings. Ignorance and arrogance are in most cases the causes of their fall.
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Mu’adh (bin Jabal) (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Allah, the Exalted, has said: `For those who love one another for the sake of My Glory, (& not for family relationship or friendship) there will be seats of light for them (on the Day of Resurrection), and they will be envied by the Prophets and martyrs”.

Lesson: This Hadith tells us that Allah will grant an exalted position to such people who love one another for His sake. “They will be envied by the Prophets and martyrs” does not mean that they will be granted a place higher than even the Prophets because the highest position will be granted to the Prophets, as these are the best of Allah’s creation. These words simply draw our attention to the superiority and the exalted position those who love one another for Allah’s sake will have on the Day of Resurrection. Another Hadith explains Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah, the Exalted, will say: `Where are those who have mutual love for the sake of My Glory? Today I shall shelter them in My Shade when there will be no shade except Mine”.
