Surah Yaseen Ayat 66 & 67 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (23 April 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[36].Surah Yaseen [Yaseen]

Ayat 66. And if it had been Allah’s Will, He would surely have wiped out (blinded) their eyes, so that they would struggle for the Path, how then would they see?

Ayat 67. And if it had been Allah’s Will, He could have transformed them (into animals or lifeless objects) in their places. Then they should have been unable to go forward (move about) nor they could have turned back. [As it happened to Bani Israel see Verse 7:166 The Qur’an].

Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 66 and 67. If it had been Allah’s Will, We could surely have blotted out their eyes; then should they have run about groping for the Path, but how could they have seen? If it had been Our Will: i.e., if such had been the Will and Plan of Allah. If Allah had not intended to give man his limited free will, or power of choice, the case would have been different: there would have been no moral responsibility which could have been enforced. They could have had no sight or intelligence, and they could not have been blamed for not seeing or understanding. But such is not the case. Ayat 67. And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (to remain) in their places; then should they have been unable to move about, nor could they have returned (after error). If Allah’s Plan had been to grant no limited freedom of choice or will to men, He could have created them quite different, or could have transformed them into stationary creatures, either in physical form as in the case of trees, or in moral or spiritual qualities, where there was no possibility either of progress or deterioration. Man would then have been unable to reach the heights of grandeur which are now open to him, or, if he goes wrong, to return through the door of repentance and mercy, and still pursue his path of ascent. But it was Allah’s Plan to give man all these privileges, and man must shoulder all the responsibilities that go with them.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Everyone will be raised in the condition in which he dies”.

[Muslim Book 40, Chapter 19, Hadith # 6878]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Yaseen Ayat 66. And if it had been Allah’s Will, He would surely have wiped out (blinded) their eyes,” This Hadith signifies that if a person dies performing good deeds, he will have a good end; and the one who dies in misdeeds, he will come to a bad end. It is, therefore, necessary that one should always avoid disobedience of Divine injunctions, especially in old age and illness because one may fall in the clutches of death at any time.
