Surah Yaseen Ayat 71 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (26 April 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[36].Surah Yaseen [Yaseen]

Ayat 71. Do they not see that We have created for them what Our Hands have created, the cattle, so that they are their owners.

Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 71. See they not that it is We Who have created for them among the things which Our hands have fashioned cattle, which are under their dominion? If they are blind to other Signs of Allah, they can at least see the simple homely things of life in which they receive so many benefits from Allah’s mercy. How is it that wild animals can be domesticated, and in domestication can be so useful to man? Man can use them for riding or for draught; he can use their flesh for food and drink their milk; he can use their hair or wool. Cf. 16:66, 80; and 23:21-22.

English Translation of Hadith

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil eyes till Surat Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas were revealed. After they were revealed, he took them to seek Allah’s protection and left everything besides them.

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2058].

Lesson:  Like men, jinn’s also have good and bad elements among them. Almighty Allah has endowed them with such power that if they want they can, with the Will of Allah, harm human beings. This is the reason mischievous jinn’s harm people. Similarly, the influence of the evil eye is also true. What it means is that if a person looks at someone with greed and envy, the evil effects of his look will reach the person viewed, and because of that he has to suffer some loss or trouble or accident. For this reason, the Prophet (PBUH) would seek the protection of Allah against the jinn’s and the evil eye and pray in his own words for it, saying: “I seek Your protection against jinn and evil eyes of the people.” After the revelation of the Surah Al-Falaq and An-Naas (last two Surah of the Quran) he started reciting them because these were revealed for this purpose. These Surah are also called “Al-Mu`awwidhatain” which mean two Surah which provide protection. It is, therefore, very useful to seek the protection of Allah by reciting them.
