Umar (r.a.) was the first Muslim to mint original Islamic coins

*DID YOU KNOW THAT ’UMAR (R.A) WAS THE FIRST MUSLIM TO MINT ORIGINAL ISLAMIC COINS,*
*THE ISLAMIC DURHAM.*

Al-Maawardee said,
*“Indeed, it was ‘Umar who decided what the official WEIGHT was of the Islamic Dirham.”*

Al-Mirqreezee said,
*“The first Muslim to mint currency was ‘Umar Ibn Al Khattab, in year 18 A.H.*
He imprinted over the Persian inscriptions and added the phrase,
*”ALL PRAISE IS FOR ALLAH.”*
On some coins, he added the phrase,
*“NONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BE WORSHIPPED BUT ALLAH.”*
And on one part of the coin, the name of the Khaleefah, ‘Umar was inscribed.“

It’s just wonderful that we find somethings in the present which reminds us of the past, that is why our attachment to history will always be there, and to be able to really understand and appreciate our present,
*we always have to know our roots and history.*

Indeed, it was also a practice of ‘Umar to know the history of someone or something, he just loved history as much as he would fight in the battlefield.

There is so much beauty in our history, in the stories of these great men that even the most genuine historical documents available attest to the greatness of Islamic History.
