*REALIZE THE POWER OF* *YOUR PARENTS DUA*
*FOR YOU*

This is the story of one of the companions of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and his parents’ love for him.
_____

He was ‘Awf Ibn Maalik Radiyallahu Anhu, the son of Maalik Ibn Abu Awf Ashjai who was once captured by the enemy troops during the time of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.

When this news reached the parents of ‘Awf, they were sadden so much to the point that the mother of ‘Awf wept so much her husband went hopeless.

At that point, Malik Radiyallahu Anhu then went to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and told him:

“My son has been captured.”

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wassalaam then advised them to repeatedly read,
*“La hawla wala quwwata illah Billah*
[There is no power or capability except from Allah.]”

*With this repeated invocation and supplications to Allah Azza Wa Jall,*
With His Power and Might, He had caused ‘Awf’s shackles broken in prison and as soon as ‘Awf was able to compose himself, he fled from the enemies.

On his way to his escape, he saw some a female camel and rode away with it, and then many other camels of the enemies came following him.

‘Awf did not stop until he reached his home and when he reached, he called out to his family, on this very moment his father exclaimed after hearing his son’s voice saying:

“By the Lord of the Ka’bah! This is my son ‘Awf!”

And when his mother heard his voice, she shouted continuously saying:
*“Subhan’Allah!*
*My son has escaped the clutches of the enemy!”*

But with their surprise it was not only ‘Awf that came but also many camels.

After ‘Awf was able to rest, Malik went to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and narrated what had happened.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam then said:
“Treat these camels the way you treat your camels.”

*Indeed, this is such a beautiful narration of the intense love of the parents towards their children, and a great example of the power of the du’a made by the parents for their children.*

This story also showcases the time where the following verses of the Noble Qur’an were revealed:

*“And whomsoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide Him from (sources) he could never imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him.”*
[Qur’an At Talaq 65: Verses 2-3]
_____
*Why can’t we just be grateful children to our parents?*

*LET US REALIZE THE POWER THAT THE DU’A OF OUR PARENTS CAN GIVE TO US,*

*MAY WE ALL REALIZE THE WORTH OF OUR PARENTS BEFORE THEY ARE TAKEN AWAY FROM US.*
