Surah Al-Ankabut Ayat 42 & 43 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (11 July 2023)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[29].Surah Al-Ankabut [The Spider]

Ayat 42. Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Ayat 43. And these similitude’s Allah put forward for mankind, but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allah and His Signs, etc.).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Ankabut (The Spider) Ayat 42 & 43. Verily Allah doth know of (everything) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise. The last verse told us that men, out of spiritual ignorance, build their hopes on flimsy insubstantial things (like the spider’s web) which are broken by a thousand chance attacks of wind and weather or the actions of animals or men. If they cannot fully grasp their own good, they should seek His Light. To Him everything is known—men’s frailty, their false hopes, their questionable motives, the false gods whom they enthrone in their midst, the mischief done by the neglect of Truth, and the way out for those who have entangled themselves in the snares of Evil. He is All-Wise and is able to carry out all He wills, and they should turn to Him. 43. And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those who understand them who have Knowledge. Parables seem simple things, but their profound meaning and application can only be understood by those who seek knowledge and by Allah’s grace attain it.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) used to say when he was in distress: “La ilaha illallahul-Azimul-Halim. La ilaha illallahu Rabbul-`Arshil-`Azim. La ilaha illallahu Rabbus-samawati, WA Rabbul-ardi, WA Rabbul-`Arshil-Karim. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Incomparably Great, the Compassionate. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Rubb of the Mighty Throne. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Rubb of the heavens, the Rubb of the earth, and the Rubb of the Honorable Throne).”

[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 75, Hadith # 357]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al- Ankabut Ayat 42. “He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise” The only medicine in a time of distress is the remembrance of Allah Whose Help alone should be sought. This Dua contains words which glorify Allah and exalt Him far above all else. It is desirable to recite these words when one is in distress as this is exactly what the Prophet (PBUH) used to recite in such situations.
