Surah Al-Ankabut Ayat 53 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (20 July 2023)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[29].Surah Al-Ankabut [The Spider]

Ayat 53. And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them), and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not!.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Ankabut (The Spider) Ayat 53. They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not! The rejecters of Faith throw out a challenge out of bravado: “Let us see if you can hasten the punishment on us!” This is a vain taunt. Allah’s Plan will take its course, and it can neither be delayed nor hastened. It is out of His Mercy that He gives respite to sinners— in order that they may have a chance of repentance. If they do not repent, the Punishment must certainly come to them—and in a sudden, before they perceive that it is coming! And then it will be too late for repentance.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Said Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) said, “How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it”. He  [SAWW](PBUH) perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he  [SAWW](PBUH) told them to seek comfort through reciting: `Hasbunallah WA ni`mal-Wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]”.

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2431]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al- Ankabut Ayat 53. “Surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not”

  1. This Hadith tells us about the fear of Allah and the fright of the hereafter entertained by theProphet [SAWW](PBUH) and his Companions. It teaches us how, in spite of being innocent and having the assurance of the forgiveness of Allah, they were always fearful of Allah and the horrors of the Day of Resurrection. As against them, we are immersed in sins, neglect and violate the Divine injunctions day and night but even then we have neither the fear of Allah nor the fright of the Day of Resurrection.
  2. In the event of fear and anxiety one should seek the help of Allah and frequently recite the Verse of the Noble Qur’an “Hasbunallahu WA Ni`mal Wakil” [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us).]” (3:173).
