Surah Al Hijr – Ayah 65 & 66

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Hijr Ayat 65 & 66_*

*_So depart with your family in the dead of night, with yourself bringing up the rear. Let no one among you look back, but go on to where you are commanded.(65)_*

*_We made this decree known to him, that the last remnants of those [sinners] would be wiped out by the morning.(66)_*

After the Angels disclose their pupose of visit now they convey Prophet Lut(AS) how to make the move to leave the town.‼️ Thus Lut(AS) was to leave the town by night, before the break of dawn. *He was to walk behind those who would be saved with him to make sure that no one was left behind, and no one looked behind, like displaced people unwilling to leave their homeland.* _Thus it is Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la who made this knowledge of punishment known to Prophet Lut(AS) so that the measures are taken to safeguard the believers and the punishment reaches to the persistent sinners who are bound to get totally wiped out from the surface of the land._

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that when sinful acts are no longer limited to individuals but have spread to become social sins, society must await the descent of divine punishment.‼️ *We usually see leader moving ahead of the group and the others follow him, but here we see Prophet Lut(AS) was asked to walk behind to ensure that none of the physically weak believer is left behind and none of the sinner joins the group.* Thus the persistent and disobedient sinners are subjected to punishment so that no one is spared.

— To understand the purpose of citing this story to the Prophet SAWS and his companions was to boost their morale that the help of Allah SWT is always near and HE SWT always takes care of HIS Messengers and the believers.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always do the good and save us from disobedience and HIS displeasure. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

JazaK Allâhu khair!
