Surah Al Mumin Ayat 11 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (12 Sep, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[40].Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) also known as Surah Ghafir [The Forgiver]

Ayat 11. They will say: “Our Lord! You have made us die twice (i.e. we were dead in the loins of our fathers and dead after our deaths in this world), and You have given us life twice (i.e. life when we were born and life when we are Resurrected)! Now we confess our sins, then is there any way to get out (of the Fire)?”

Tafseer of Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) Ayat 11. They will say: “Our Lord! Twice hast Thou made us without life, and twice hast Thou given us Life! Now have we recognized our sins: Is there any way out (of this)?” Cf. 2:28: “How can ye reject the faith in Allah?-seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again, to Him will ye return.” Nonexistence, or existence as clay without life was equivalent to death. Then came true Life on this earth; then came physical death or the cessation of our physical life; and now at the Resurrection, is the second life..

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “When a Muslim, or a believer, washes his face (in the course of Wudu’), every sin which he committed with his eyes, will be washed away from his face with water, or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin which is committed by his hands will be effaced from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin his feet committed will be washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water; until he finally emerges cleansed of all his sins.”

[Muslim Book # 02, Chapter # 07, Hadith # 0475].

Lesson: O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salat (the prayer), wash your face and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles . If you are in a state of Janaba (i.e. had a sexual discharge), purify yourself (bathe your whole body). This Hadith has the same meaning mentioned in another Hadith. That is to say, such minor sins are washed off by Wudu’. In other words, Wudu’ is a means of purification of the body as well as the soul.
