Surah An Nahl – Ayah 83

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 83_*

*_They recognise the blessing of Allah, yet they deny it, and most of them are ungrateful..(83)_*

The Ayah highlights the human inconsistency and ungrateful nature.‼️ The polytheists did not deny that these good things and blessings of life were created by Allahﷻ., but when someone was a recipient of a particular blessing, they considered it a favour of such and such saint or angel instead of Allahﷻ, or that it was the result of the intercession of recommendation of some other being through their ‘wasila’ or agency. On account of this belief this ‘wasila’ or ‘wasta’ (agency) were considered by them as worthy of their gratitude. Then they used to deal with them as they dealt with Allahﷻ only. *Thus they admitted the blessings of Allahﷻ on the one hand, on the other they denied it by adopting a policy which was in contravention of that admission.* This wrong attitude and wrong acts of the polytheists is being reproached here.

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that mere recognition of Allah’sﷻ blessings is insufficient rather it must be acknowledged through our Obedience to HIS commands and staying away from HIS prohibitions and always keep in mind ungrateful nature or denial of Allah’sﷻ blessings leads to kufur (disbelief).”‼️
Let’s adhere to Tauheed and never forget that Allahﷻ is the source of all the blessings in our lives and HEﷻ is always near and responds to our supplication as HEﷻ is All Mighty and All wise.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to stay away from shirk and deviations. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 82

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayat 82_*

*_But if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the message in the clearest way. (82)_*

The Ayah describes the role of Prophetﷺ in conveying the message of Islam clearly regardless of the response of the people.‼️ Even after reminding the people of all the blessings from Allahﷻ. if they still deny to submit to HIS commands then they should know that the Messengerﷺ is responsible only for delivering Allah’sﷻ message to them and he certainly has fulfilled his mission and he is not responsible to guide them. It is up to the people whether they deny the truth or accept it.

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that anyone who disobeys bears full responsibility for his disobedience.‼️ *The role of a Dae’e is only limited to conveying the message of Islam irrespective of expecting the results in positive or negative.* Their fate is in the hands of Allahﷻ, who is able to punish those who disobey.

–This Ayah reminds us to

1. To focus on conveying Allah’sﷻ message.
2. To prioritise clarity and understanding.
3. To trust Allah’sﷻ plan, despite challenges.
4. To emulate the Prophet’s (ﷺ) perseverance in Dawah.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to emulate patience and perseverance in the field of Dawah. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 81

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 81_*

*_”And Allah has made for you, from that which He created, shades and has made for you shelters from the mountains and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments (coats of armour) to protect you from your (mutual) violence (wars). Thus He completes His Favor upon you so that you may submit (to Him).(81)_*

_AIIah makes provision for the minutest needs and necessities of every aspect of human life. Our clothes protect us from heat and cold, just as our armour protects us from the hurt which otherwise receive in battle. The use of garments in hot countries has specially been mentioned because the main use of garments here is for protection from the hot pestilential furious wind. Therefore, one has to cover one’s head, neck, ears, and the whole of ones body to protect it from the hot wind which would otherwise scorch one to death._

_We find that Allah has made such elaborate arrangements as require a complete book to relate them. *These arrangements reach their perfection in the case of clothing and housing arrangement.* Likewise, one would see perfection of the blessings of Allah in the fulfillment of each and every human need and necessity._

*Act for the Day is:* _To understand that all these blessings, which have both a physical and a spiritual purpose, should *teach us to rally towards Allah and tune our will with His Universal Will, which is another name for Islam, and bow to His Will.*_

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder and submit to HIS commands in toto. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 80

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 80_*

*_”And Allah has made for you in your homes a place of rest and made for you tents from the hides of the cattle, which you find light on the day of your encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and a provision for a time.(80)”_*

This Ayah explains the favors that Allahﷻ bestows on humans to be used as a sign of HIS oneness‼️ _HEﷻ bestows homes for humans which not only serve as a place to live or shelter from the rain and heat, but also a place to create a safe, peaceful atmosphere and foster love and a sense of loyalty among its residents. The pure home thus becomes the type of the highest spiritual destiny of man. *And these capacities in man are the gifts of Allahﷻ.*_

_And when man travels, he wants temporary dwellings, tents, which he can make of the skins of animals, for weaving into fabrics of vegetable fibres, similar to the skin of animals. And these tents are easy to carry when moving, and easy to pitch during halts._

_Similarly, *Sūf,* wool, is what we get from sheep. *Sha’r,* hair, is what we get from goats, or similar animals, for weaving into fabrics. *Wabar* is the soft camel’s hair of which, also, fabrics are woven._

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To be Thankful to Allahﷻ for HIS loving care, and providing the natural means and sources of all types of safety and security._‼️ The *ease, comfort and reassurance one has at home* are certainly a blessing from Allahﷻ but it is something best *appreciated only by those who are homeless*. . Hence, a reminder of the comforts we find in our own homes should alert us to the value of this great blessing as from a good household, a good person is born. Islam establishes rules to ensure the honor of the house as a place to live. A person is prohibited from entering another person’s house before greeting and asking permission from the occupants, even if he is a state official. It is not allowed for a person to check another person’s house for any reason, and it is not allowed to spy on the occupants so as to cause insecurity for the family of the occupants of the house

Please note that all such articles of refined luxury, and useful articles of comfort and convenience only lasts for a while, *but they must be considered Allah’sﷻ gifts.*

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder and remain grateful for all HIS favours and blessings through our Obedience. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 79

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 79_*

*_”Do they not see the birds controlled in the midst of the sky? None holds them except Allah. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe”(79)._*

_All the wonderful things in creation are due to the Artistry, Power, and Wisdom of Allahﷻ‼️_
_A question is asked to make us think about the Oneness of Allahﷻ. Do they not see the birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None gave them the ability to fly but Allahﷻ. HEﷻ does so through HIS laws of nature, which make the birds able to fly and make the atmosphere around us amenable for their flight. It is HIS laws that keep the birds in mid-air, floating safely, without fear that they may fall Verily, in this are ayât (clear proof and a sign) for a people who believe._

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To observe the birds flying, when you go out today and reflect upon the Ayah.‼️_ Because it is so familiar to us to see birds flying in midair, we do not pay attention to the fascinating wonder their flying involves. Our minds do not give it much thought unless we are fully alerted to it, contemplating it with the eyes.

_Understand the Oneness of Allahﷻ, and try to imagine and note the various other driving forces working behind the simple flight of the birds in the midair, and Glorify Allahﷻ for HIS Artistry, Power and Wisdom, (Imagination helps develop Thinking Power). *Similarly, are the inventions and discoveries, due to man’s intelligence, for man’s intelligence is also a gift direct from Allahﷻ.*_ (Please read S16: A80-81 for more understanding of similar blessings of Allahﷻ).

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder and reflect upon the signs that point to HIS oneness and strengthen our Imaan. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 78

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 78_*

*_”And Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when you knew nothing, and gave you the hearing and sight and the hearts, so that you might give thanks.”(78)_*

_This is to remind us that when we were born, we were completely helpless and ignorant than the young-one of an animals, but Allah gave us *”ears to hear”, “eyes to see” and “hearts to feel and love,* as centre of affection.” These have enabled us to acquire every kind of information and knowledge to carry on our worldly affairs efficiently._

_So much so that these sensory faculties are the only means which help us attain so much progress as to rule over everything on the earth._

*_Act for the Day is:_* to notice once again, as everywhere in the Qur’an, the power of hearing always precedes that of sight, for without hearing, one cannot speak, and unable to speak, one is unable to learn, whereas being without the sight of eye is comparatively less disadvantageous.‼️ *Again, hearing comes in singular but sight in plural, because in a wider view, one can see several things at a time, whereas one can never hear more than one voice: two complete sentences of fair length from two speakers, at one time.*

_To understand that it will be total disobedience/ingratitude on our part if we *”hear everything with our ears except the Word of Allah”, “see everything with our eyes except the Signs of Allah” and “consider seriously about all the matters of our life, except our Creator/Benefactor Who has blessed us with these favours”.*_

_”We should be grateful to Allah, by always remembering Him, Who has bestowed upon us such blessings as *’eyes, ears, and hearts’,* which are considered the centers of the affection & intelligence. We should therefore give thanks to Allah, not to imaginary deities or powers or other forces._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always remain grateful for HIS blessings and save us from ingratitude and kufr. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 77

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 77_*

*_”And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour is but as a twinkling of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allah is All-powerful on everything.(77)_*

The Ayah describes the perfection of Allah’sﷻ knowledge of the unseen and HIS omnipotence.‼️ _The key to all things – not only those which we see and understand, but those which we do not see or of which we have no idea – is with Allahﷻ, Whose knowledge and Power are Supreme._

_*Lures of this world and its fleeting pleasures often make man forget that the life of the Hereafter is an imminent reality.* Many of those who claim to believe in the life to come act and behave as if it belonged to a distant future, and had no relevance to their present activities and mode of living._

_The Qur’an repeatedly reminds man that the Hour of Reckoning is not a distant possibility, but very close to man, and could come to pass any moment. Therefore, *”now is the time to consider this matter seriously and to decide about our attitude towards it.”*_

*_Act for the Day is:_’* to understand that although human knowledge of outer space and the current state of the earth is very advanced, what we do not know is much greater.‼️ *When humans reach the moon, they will still be faced with the mystery and secrecy of the planets Mars, Venus, and others.* In fact, these planets are like grains of sand in the middle of the vast Sahara when compared to the vastness of the universe. Likewise regarding the condition of the earth. No geologist can predict exactly when an earthquake or a volcano will erupt. No one can be sure what will happen tomorrow, when death will come to him, and where he will be buried. All of these are matters of the unseen for humans. However, this ignorance is a great mercy of Allahﷻ for humans so that they can make plans and actions according to their wishes and expect the outcome.

_Let us read and understand the Qur’an regularly and consistently, so that we can be reminded of the Hour of Reckoning._

_*And lets always be on alert and watchful to steer clear of all forms of sin and impiety*, for when the promised Hour comes it will come all of a sudden and without any prior notice, it will come in the twinkling of an eye or even take less time than this._ (Please also Read from Quran S10:A45; S30:A55; S45:A32)

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder and reflect upon the reminders and take heed. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 76

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 76_*

*_Allah makes [another] comparison: two men, one of whom is mute, unable to do anything, and is a burden on his master; whichever way he directs him, he achieves nothing good. Is he equal to one who enjoins justice and follows a straight path?(76)_*

The example in the Ayah depicts of another two persons one of whom bids justice and teaches what is good. This is a model of his intellectual perfection. Then he himself takes the path of moderation and right guidance. This is the model of his practical perfection. Set against the power of this intellectually and practically perfect man, there is the other man who cannot do anything for himself nor can he do anything right for others. *These two men of two different kinds, despite being from one genus, one species and one brotherhood, cannot be equal to each other.* Hence no reasonable person would equate the two‼️. _So, how can some created being or thing become equal to the Creator and Master of the universe who is Absolute in Wisdom, Absolute in Power, and All-Knowing and All-Aware who enjoins only what is reasonable and guides to the path of truth?_

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand and analyse the Qualities of the Creator.‼️Allahﷻ is not only All Powerful, but also hears all the prayers and fulfills all the needs, HEﷻ is All-Wise and HIS decisions are based upon supreme Wisdom. HEﷻ enjoins justice in the world, whatever HEﷻ does is right and accurate. _The idol which is like a mute person in this example who doesn’t have the ability to speak, but also doesn’t have the ability to think. It doesn’t understand what other people mean, and other people also cannot understand it’s intentions. Therefore, it cannot complete it’s own affairs let alone the affairs of others. It is only a burden to others, wherever it is placed, and whatever task it is given certainly does not bring any good results._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to remain grateful for the Imaan and keep our hearts firm upon Deen. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 75

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 75_*

*_Allah makes this comparison: a slave, the property of another, who has no power over anything, and one on whom We have bestowed goodly provision from Us, and he gives of it both in private and in public. Are the two equal? Praise be to Allah. But most of them do not know.(75)_*

The Ayah gives an example of a eternal truth to the idolators they had overlooked closer to their understanding.‼️ *In the previous Ayah, Allahﷻ forbids us to invent comparisons for HIM.* As the basis of their comparison were wrong, their conclusions were also misleading. *In this Ayah appropriate similitude have been cited and right comparisons have been made to lead them to reality.*

_The example cited is of comparison between two of whom one person is helpless and a slave and another person is independent and also munificent. Do you consider such two persons equal? *No*. Whenever you would like to go for help, you would approach the second person, and not the first person, because you know that he is helpless, he has no control over anything. In your personal and mutual dealings you will understand the difference between a helpless person and a person with power, and you act according to their status. But when the question of praying for getting your needs fulfilled arises, instead of turning to the Creator you turn to the creatures, and you consider His helpless slaves as your benefactors and you are grateful to them. Is this not an obvious act of ignorance.❓_

*The disbelievers are fully aware of the difference between the powerful and the powerless among their fellow beings*. Nor do they fail to distinguish between these two categories of people in their practical lives. So it is astonishing that when it comes to applying this reasonable distinction to Creator and created, they show utter foolishness and stupidity insofar as they fail to recognize the essential difference between the two.”

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that the word *الحَمدُ ِللهِ Al-Hamdulillah* has been placed in the Ayah to make us realise that All Thanks and Praise Belongs to Allahﷻ Alone and HEﷻ is Only worthy of worship.‼️ *But many people do not know this obvious fact, that is why they consider others as their benefactor instead of Allahﷻ and they are grateful to them.*

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the proper and right knowledge of the Deen and save us from Shirk and Bidah. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 74

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 74_*

*_”So do not invent any similitude for Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know.”(74)_*

The Ayah asks for avoiding anthropomorphism (attributing human qualities to Allahﷻ and invites to recognize HIS uniqueness and transcendence.‼️ _We should not compare Allahﷻ with others, nor consider HIM to be unapproachable like worldly kings and rulers, to whom none can have access without the mediation and intercession of their courtiers and servants, as Allahﷻ is not surrounded by angels, saints, favourites, etc.,_

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To understand that, there is nothing similar to Allahﷻ nor HE SWT resembles anything. *”We shall not make any comparisons with Allahﷻ”,* And another very important aspect of Allahﷻ is that, *Everyone can have direct access to Allahﷻ without mediation by anyone.*_ This Ayah clarifies an important aspect of the reality of things as they relate to Allahﷻ. *If ignored, it becomes the breeding ground of all sorts of rejectionist doubts and scruples.* _The problem is that people would generally take Allahﷻ on the analogy of their own humankind and go on to declare the highest placed among them, a king and ruler, as similar to Allahﷻ . Then, relying on this wrong assumption, they start seeing the Divine system on the analogy of the system of human monarchs. This leads them to take a cue from the fact that since no king can, all by himself, run the and administration of the whole kingdom, the system is run by delegating powers to subordinate ministers and officials who do that on his behalf. Similarly, they believe and propose that there have to be some other objects of worship under the authority of Allah’sﷻ who would help HIM out in carrying out HIS tasks._ *This is the general theory of all idol worshipers and polytheists.* This sentence of the Qur’an has cut off the very root of these doubts by stating that suggesting examples of what has been created and applying them on Allahﷻ , the Creator, is something unreasonable by itself. HEﷻ is far above similarities and analogies and conjectures and guesses.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la strengthen our Imaan and save us from following misconceptions and assumptions. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
