Surah Ar-Rum Ayat 29 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (21 August 2023)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[30].Surah Ar-Rum [The Romans]

Ayat 29. Nay, but those who do wrong follow their own lusts without knowledge, Then who will guide him whom Allah has sent astray? And for such there will be no helpers.

Tafseer of Surah Al Rum (The Romans) Ayat 29. Nay, the wrong-doers (merely) follow their own lusts, being devoid of knowledge. But who will guide those whom Allah leaves astray? To them there will be no helpers. The wrongdoers—those who deliberately reject Allah’s guidance and break Allah’s Law-have put themselves out of the region of Allah’s mercy. In this they have put themselves outside the pale of the knowledge of what is for their own good. In such a case they must suffer the consequences of the personal responsibility which flows from the grant of a limited free will. Who can then guide them or help them?

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Every one of my followers will be forgiven except those who expose (openly) their wrongdoings. An example of this is that of a man who commits a sin at night which Allah has covered for him, and in the morning, he would say (to people): “I committed such and such sin last night,’ while Allah had kept it a secret. During the night Allah has covered it up but in the morning he tears up the cover provided by Allah Himself.”

[Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 95].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ar-Rum [The Romans] Ayat 29. “But those who do wrong follow their own lusts without knowledge, then who will guide him whom Allah has sent astray” We learn from this Hadith that commission of a sin due to human frailties on which one is ashamed but does not like to express is something which might hopefully be forgiven by Allah. In fact, its remission after penitence is almost certain. But to commit a sin openly is totally different because, firstly, the heart of such a person is deprived of the fear of Allah. Secondly, he has no respect and regard for Divine injunctions. Thirdly, such a person usually does not repent his sins. Fourthly, he makes a declaration of breach of Divine injunctions which amounts to inviting His wrath and punishment.
