Surah As-Saffat Ayat 160 to 163 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (01 June 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[37].Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks)

Ayat 160. Except the slaves of Allah, whom He chooses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah).

Ayat 161. So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols).

Ayat 162. Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers],

Ayat 163. Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell!

Tafseer of Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks) Ayat 160 to 163. Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. Those sincere in devotion to Allah never ascribes such degrading ideas to Allah (Cf. 37:74). 161. For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 162. Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, Evil has no power over faith, truth, and sincerity. Such power as it has is over those who deliberately put themselves in the way of Destruction. It is their own will that leads them astray. If they were fortified against Evil by Faith, Patience, and Constancy, Evil would have no power to hurt them. Allah would protect them, 163. Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire!

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “My parable and that of yours is like a man who kindled a fire. When it was illuminated all around him, the moths and grasshoppers began to fall therein. He tried to push them away, but they overcame him and jumped into it. I am catching hold of your waist’s ties (to save you) from fire, but you slip away from my hands”.

[Muslim Book 030, Chapter 06, Hadith # 5672].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah As-Saffat Ayat 160. Except the slaves of Allah, whom He chooses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah)” This Hadith mentions the extreme kindness which the Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) had for the welfare of his followers. It also mentions the misfortune of those who would become the fuel of Hell for not accepting Islam in spite of the utmost affection and ardor of the Prophet (PBUH) to bring them in the fold of Islam. People who fail to accept Islam would fall in the Hell-fire in the same way moths fall in the fire.
