Surah Fatir Ayat 37 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (17 March 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[35].Surah Fatir [The Originator of Creation]

Ayat 37. Therein they will cry: “Our Lord! Bring us out; we shall do righteous good deeds, not (the evil deeds) that we used to do.” (Allah will reply): “Did We not give you lives long enough, so that whosoever would receive admonition, – could receive it? And the warner came to you. So taste you (the evil of your deeds). For the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) there is no helper.”

Tafseer of Surah Fatir Ayat 37. Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): “Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!” – “Did We not give you long enough life so that he would receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you. So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds): for the wrong-doers there is no helper.” Cf. 23:107. Not only will their surroundings be the opposite of those in Heaven: their internal state will be one of humiliation, of piteous and fruitless appeals, of vain regrets for a past that cannot be recalled, and vain signs for a future whose gates they have themselves barred. If they were sent back, they would relapse to their sins. Cf. 6:28. And Cf. 7:53 . Their hankering after another chance, after having deliberately rejected all chances, will have no basis of reason in it. They had a long enough respite for repentance and amendment. And moreover, besides all the other sources, in nature, history, and their own hearts, by which they could learn of the Right, they had the actual teaching and warning of a messenger whose words spoke directly to them. In the circumstances the Penalty is only the fruit of their own conduct.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Atiyyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Masruq and I visited Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) and said: “O Mother of the Believers! There are two Companions of Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) and neither of them holds back from doing good acts; but one of them hastens to break Saum (fasting) and hastens to perform the Maghreb prayer, while the other delays breaking Saum and delays performing Salat (prayer).” She asked, “Who is the one who hastens to break Saum and perform the Maghreb prayer?” Masruq said, “It is `Abdullah (meaning `Abdullah bin Masud).” She said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) used to do so.”

[Muslim Book 06, Chapter 09, Hadith # 2420]

Lesson : This Hadith points out the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) of breaking the Saum and performing the Maghrib prayer in the early moments of the prescribed time.
