English Translation of Al-Quran

[36].Surah Yaseen [Yaseen]

Ayat 33. And a sign for them is the dead land. Allah gave it life, and brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof.

Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 33. A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. Lest anyone should say, ‘if they are destroyed, how can they be brought before the Judgment Seat’ a symbol is pointed to. The earth is to all intents and purposes dead in the winter, but Allah revives it in the spring. Cf. 2:164, 30:19, and many other passages to that effect.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ[SAWW](PBUH) enjoined the payment of one Sa’ of dates or one Sa’ of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the Eid prayer. (One Sa’ = 3 Kilograms approx.)

The Purpose of Zakat-ul-Fitr

Every Muslim is required to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr at the conclusion of the month of Ramadan as a token of thankfulness to Allah (SWT) for having enabled him to observe fasts. Its purpose is to purify those who fast from any indecent act or speech and to help the poor and needy. In addition, it provides for the needs of the poor and the indigent and relieves them from having to ask others for charity on the day of Eid. The Prophet, ﷺ[SAWW](PBUH) said, “Fulfill their need on this day (i.e., the day of `Eid).
