*IT IS THE JOY AND HAPPINESS*
*IT BRINGS THAT TRULY COUNTS.*

*WHEN YOU GIVE A GIFT, THEY SMILE.*

And some even jump out of joy and gives so much appreciation.

O how beautiful is that? How heart warming is it to see that someone gave out a genuine smile because of something you gave and hand over to him/her.
_____

Often times, whenever we are to give out some gifts, we are impatient.

Yes, impatient to wait for the person to give it to to appear infront of us, how many times have we been asked to give something to our relatives and when we reach their homes and we find them not there, we give it to someone and just ask them to give it to that person when he or she arrives.

*This is the story about Umm Khalid Radiyallahu Anha and The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.*
*She was born in Abyssinia to Khalid Ibn Sa’id Ibn Al-’As and Umaymah Bint Khalf Al-Khuza’iyyah Radiyallahu Anhum.*
Her father was amongst those who were honoured to perform the Hijrah to Abyssinia.

Her name was Ammat Bint Khalid but she was often called by her parents as *Umm Khalid.*
She acquired knowledge of the Abyssinian language at a very young age.

One beautiful thing about the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam was that he did not just love his companions alone but also their families, and their children. He would actually mention them on special occasions. (Subhan’Allah what an honour of being mentioned by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam)
_____

One day, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam was given some clothes including a black khamisah. So, he said to his companions: “To whom shall i give this to wear?”

The companions kept silent whilst wondering who the fortunate person who would receive this beautiful garment would be.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said:
*“Bring(Fetch) Umm Khalid for me.”*

A companion quickly went to Khalid and informed him that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam requested him to come with his daughter. Without delay, her father came to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam with his daughter in his arms and presented her to him.

So, the companions yearningly watched as the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam gave the black khamisah to Umm Khalid and put it on her and said with his own tongue:
*“This is sanah (beautiful), O Umm Khalid!”*

Wallah, the girl was so delighted by the *Gift* and was hugely honoured that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam given her it to wear with his own hands. Not only did the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam do this but he also supplicated for her three times:
*“MAY YOU LIVE SO LONG THAT YOUR DRESS WILL WEAR OUT AND YOU WILL MEND IT MANY TIMES.”*
_____

Subhan’Allah the beautiful character of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.

*Come to think of it, he was the Messenger of Allah, he could have just send this gift to the kid in their house, but he did not, he wanted to give it to her personally and share the young girl’s joy at receiving it.*

And did you know that truly Allah Azza Wa Jall answered the du’a that was made by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam for Umm Khalid? Yes, because
*UMM KHALID WAS AMONGST THE LAST OF THE SAHABIYYAT (FEMALE COMPANIONS) TO RETURN TO ALLAH.*
Allahu’akbar.

If you were to give a gift for your fellow Muslims, then be the one to hand it over, and do not just ask someone to give it for you, because the very essence of you giving that is not attained.

It is the joy and happiness that it brings that really counts, it is the only thing that you can’t buy in this world, because this kind of joy and happiness lasts a long time,
*A LIFETIME.*

Did you think Umm Khalid forgot what the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam has done for her?
It might have been a little act for many, but for her
*IT WAS AN HONOUR THAT LASTED FOR HER LIFETIME.*

Even at old age she would be reminded of this event and she would be filled with the same joy as it had filled her heart that very moment. Allahu’akbar.

It is the little things that we usually do that leaves so much impact in both our and others’ lives.
Alhamdulillah.

Jabir Ibn ‘Abdullah Radiyallahu Anhu narrated that they were with the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam in Dhat ar-Riqa’ when they came to a shaded tree and left the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam underneath so that he could sleep. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam hung up his sword and we dispersed to take shade under the trees.

During this time, we (the Muslims) were at war with the Ghatfan tribes who had begun to pursue us and as the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam was resting under the tree an opening was seen in Muslim ranks.

A man called Ghawrath Ibn Al Harith approached until he stood over the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam with his sword drawn close to the Prophet’s Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam head and said: “Who can save you from me?”

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam neither got scared nor panicked but instead he said:
*“ALLAH WILL STOP YOU.”*

When Ghawrath heard these words from the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam, fear overcame his body and he began to tremble that caused his sword to fall from his hand, whereupon the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam took hold of it and said:
*“WHO CAN SAVE YOU FROM ME?”*

Ghawrath said: “Nobody.
The sword is now in your hand so kill me if you must.”

Instead of killing or hurting the man, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam with his ability to forgive and pardon in the most surprising of situations showed remission and further invited him to submit to Islam.

Ghawrath may have not submitted to Islam that time, but when he came back to his people, he told them:
*“I HAVE COME BACK TO YOU HAVING BEEN WITH THE BEST OF PEOPLE.”*

*And Allah says in the Qur’an: “You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah.” 3:110*

He was Abu Mahdhurah

*HE WAS*
*ABU MAHDHURAH*
*THE BOY WHO CALLED THE ADHAN*

*Ever saw a child imitating the muadhdhin?*

Does it bring you joy? Or do you reprimand them quickly?

This is a beautiful story about this youngster who did just the same as those little kids we find in the masajid.

This happened during the time when the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam headed to Hunayn after the conquest of Makkah, in Al Ja’irranah.

*He was Abu Mahdhurah Radiyallahu Anhu whose real name was Aws Ibn Rabi’ah Radiyallahu Anhu.* He was 15 years old and was amongst the inhabitants of Makkah. He used to tend to sheep with his friends around Makkah.

One day they went to an oasis in Al Jar’irranah close to Wadi Hunayn when he heard the sound of the adhan, and this was the adhan for Dhuhr made by Bilal Radiyallahu Anhu. And because Abu Mahdhurah RA was very pleased at the beautiful voice of Bilal Radiyallahu Anhu, he started to mess around and imitate Bilal Radiyallahu Anhu.

As Bilal Radiyallahu Anhu called the adhan in the Muslim army camp, Abu Mahdhurah copied his words whilst stood amid his sheep. And because it turned out that Abu Mahdhurah RA had a beautiful and clear voice, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam was able to hear him.

Once the adhan had finish, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam ordered Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Zubair Ibn Awwam Radiyallahu Anhum to fetch the boy to him. As they went to the other side of the oasis and brought back Abu Mahdhurah RA and his friends, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam asked: “Who just made the call to prayer among you?”

Feeling embarrassed and shy before the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, all of the boys remained silent.

So the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said to one of them: “Let me hear the adhan”. However, that particular boys voice was not very good, so he said to another boy, “You make the call to prayer”, but still it was not that good, so for the third time, he turned to Abu Mahdhurah RA and said “Make the call to prayer” and his voice was beautiful and pleasant. So the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam asked him: “Were you the one who made the call to prayer berfore?”

Abu Mahdhurah RA replied: “Yes, that was me.” With that, Abu Mahdhurah’s friends ran off and he was ordered to sit down. He feared that he was going to be punished as he made fun of Bilal RA, but look at how the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam approached him:

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam stretched out his hand, took off his turban and supplicated for Abu Mahdhurah RA saying:
*“O Allah, bless him and guide him to Islam.”*

He then stroked his head with his hand and made the same supplication for him a second time. This character of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam made such a great impact on Abu Mahdhurah RA that it made him enter the fold of Islam.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam found his voice extremely beautiful, that at the time that Makkah had been conquest and there was a need for someone to become the muadhdhin in Makkah, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said to that Abu Mahdhurah RA was the best person for the job, so he said to him: “Go and make the call to prayer to the people of Makkah; you are now the muadhdhin of the people of Makkah.”
_____

Allahu’akbar! How beautiful was this story!
*It is said that because the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam had blessed Abu Mahdhurah RA by stroking his head that*
*He vowed to never cut his hair or shave ever again.*
*So he grew his hair very longand he continued to be the muadhdhin until his death, and this honor of becoming a muadhdhin in Makkah remained in his lineage for some 300 years.*

Let us remember this hadith:

Ibn-‘Umar (RA) that Muhammad ﷺ said; “The Mu’adhdhin will receive forgiveness to the extent the voice of his Adhān reaches; every living and non-living thing that hears his voice, supplicates for his forgiveness. In another narration it is stated: Every living and non-living thing replies to his Adhān.”

This is a wonderful story that happened during the time of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.
_____
One day, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam left from his house whilst he was hungry as he had not eaten anything decent for a nmber of days. As such, he left his house in search of food and he came across Abu Bakr and ‘Umar Radiyallahu Anhum who asked: “What brings you both out of your houses at this hour?”

They replied: “Hunger, O Messenger of Allah”.
He replied: “ By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I did not leave my house for other than what brought you both out. Come with me.”

With that, the two Companions went with the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam to the house of an Ansari man and like many of the houses in Madinah during that period, the house was built inside a walled garden in which there was a well.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam reacged the house of that Companion but he was not home at that particular time. When his wife saw the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar at her door, she said: “Welcome to you!”

With that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam mentioned her husband’s name and asked for the whereabouts. She replied: “he has gone out to bring back sweet water for us.” At that moment the Ansari man heard the voice of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and so he came hurriedly.

When he saw the three of them standing at his door, he became extremely happy so much that he exclaimed in a loud voice: “Allah is the Greatest! Is there any greater happiness and good fortune than my house being honored by the Imam of the worlds?!” He then continued in his jubilation saying: “Praise be to Allah, nobody is a more honored guest to me today!”

Quickly, the Ansari Companion seated his guests in his house, which was adjoined to a date palm tree in the garden. He then climbed the tree and retrieved a variety of different dates including ripe and half ripe dates. He then placed them all in front of his guests with absolute honor and respect and said: “Eat from these dates.”

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “You did not have to bring the whole cluster”. The Ansari man replied: “I wanted you to eat whatever types of dates you wanted from it.”

He also slaughter a sheep for his guest in which the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “If you do (slaughter a sheep) then do not kill one that gives milk. He then made du’a for his host as it was his manner to do so.

As such, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam made the supplication that he wanted to teach his Companions and all Muslims to emulate when offered food by a person: “May the righteous eat your food and may the angels send blessings upon you.”

*The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam then turned to his Companions to remind them of the blessings that Allah had bestowed upon them, as all three of them had left their homes whilst hungry and in search of food and Allah had granted them food through this Ansari man. With that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “By the One whose Hand is my soul, this is a bountiful blessing about which you will be asked on the Day of Judgment. You left your houses hungry and you did not return without receiving this blessings.”*
_____

Subhan’Allah. Indeed, we do learn so much from this story.

• The Ansari man became very happy that he was visited by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, amongst all the houses in Madinah, he was chosen by Allah Azza Wa Jall to quench the hunger of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.

*Realize that when someone comes over to your home to visit you, know that these people have travelled and might have reached your home thirsty or hungry.*
*Allah Azza Wa Jall has chosen you and your home to be a place of relief for them.*

• The beautiful character of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam towards his host, that he did not just eat extravagantly but instead he was careful and adviced the host of something that would benefit not only him but his host as well.

• That any Muslim who is offered some food or water, he or she must supplicate and thank Allah Azza Wa Jall for the bountiful blessings they are given.

• The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam even though he was the leader of that time, he did not feel embarrassed going to the house of one of his companions and accept their hospitality when he can easily command them to bring him food. Subhan’Allah.
_____

Indeed, the name of the Ansari man might not been mentioned in the story so that he gets the full reward for this, it is always better to be mentioned anonymously in the dunya for in sha Allah we will all know of his name when Allah Azza Wa Jall mentions it in Jannah. Allahu’akbar.

*Sometimes we give to be recognized by people*
But know that as Muslims, we would rather be mentioned anonymously here and be mentioned and be known in Jannah. Alhamdulillah.

And we pray that Allah Azza Wa Jall accepts our good deeds and make us generous to those Muslim relatives and guests who come often to our homes.

in sha Allah
We all take benefit from this wonderful story from one of the companions of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.
______

There was a Sahabi named ‘Amr Ibn Jamuh Radiyallahu Anhu who suffered from a disability he had in one of his legs, so he used to limp.

‘Amr RA had four young sons and his entire family had the honor of converting to Islam. When the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam set out for the Battle of Badr, ‘Amr RA also got ready to go. But his sons stopped him, saying that he was exempted because of his disability. With their persistence, their father didn’t take part in the Battle of Badr. He was then very disappointed at missing this opportunity.

Then a year later, when the Battle of Uhud arose, he said to his sons “O my sons! You prevented me from going to the battlefield of Badr; don’t try to stop me from going to Uhud.” The sons again talked and tried to convince and explain to their father about his exemption on participating in the battle.

But the old man, ‘Amr RA, desired martyrdom, so he limped to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and complained until his heart’s desire came to his lips and he said: “By Allah! I have a strong wish to be martyred in the way of Allah and thus limp my way to Paradise.”

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam repeated what his sons had already told him (that he is exempted from participating during the battle). Even though ‘Amr wasn’t religiously obligated, but with his passion and determination, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam advised his sons that there is no harm if they let their father go. That it is just possible that Allah may grant him the honor of martyrdom.

Thus, ‘Amr RA took his sword and left for the battlefield of Uhud. The old man with the disability reached the battlefield and fought fiercely. In the end he was bestowed with the robe of martyrdom; his dearest wish was granted.

When his wife Hind Bint ‘Amr RA reached the battlefiled, she discovered that her brother, Abdullah Ibn ‘Amr Ibn Haram RA, who had a deep friendship with ‘Amr Ibn Jamuh RA, had also been martyred. The friends were buried in the same grave.

*The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “By Allah, There are some persons of Allah such that if they swear by Allah, He fulfills their oath. One such person is ‘Amr Ibn Jamuh. I have seen him enter Paradise limping.”*
_____

*Subhan’Allah. Such is an honor and reward from Allah from those who fulfill their oaths in His Name.*

The story might be such a heavy example as to which one may ask, so what is the connection of this to our saying “Wallah” or swearing in the name of Allah as an expression.

It is to remind you that you should have a great desire of fulfilling something before you utter it while accompanying it with swearing it in the name of Allah, for such promises should be fulfilled accordingly as it was uttered to be done for His Sake.

This is a heavy responsibility for each and everyone of us, so be cautious about it. So if you have have a habit of saying such words, then do your best to stop from it.
Do not swear and use such words lightly for you may not realize that you are actually doing something harmful to your own soul.

_____

And we pray that Allah forgives our shortcomings and that He helps us remove such habit of saying such words when we do not mean any of it and that we may be amongst those people who fulfill their promises not only to people we promised to but most especially for Allah.

Humiliation for Abu Jahl

*READING TIME..*

*DURING THIS QUARANTINE TIME,*

*HUMILIATION FOR ABU JAHL*

Whenever Abu Jahl used to act folly or try to be arrogant in front of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم , Allah the exalted used to humiliate him.
Narrated by Ibn Hisham: Abdul Malik bin Abdullah bin Abi Sufyan As-Saqafi, whose memory power was sound, told me that once a man from the tribe of Arash (or Arasha) came to Makkah on a business trip.
He had brought few camels along with him in order to sell them.
Abu Jahl offered to purchase those camels but did not pay the man in return. Rather, he continued to prolong the date of payment. Frustrated by this, one day, the Arashi man came and stood in the meeting of the Quraishi leaders which was being held in the court of Kaba. That time, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم was also present there in another corner of the courtyard. The Arashi businessman exclaimed: “O people of Quraish! Is there anyone among you who can help and support me against Abul Hikm bin Hisham (Abu Jahl)? I am a traveller and a business man and he (Abu Jahl) is not returning the dues which he owes to me.

The narrator says that the Quraishi leaders who were holding a meeting then, indiated towards Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم and said: “Can you see Him? Go to Him! He will help you.”
They intended to make a mockery of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم) astaghfirulah) and to put Him صلى الله عليه وسلم into a controversy because everyone knew that they both had many differences
between themselves.

The Arashi went and stood in front of Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم and mentioned his problem to Him صلى الله عليه وسلم
and asked for Rasoolullah’s صلى الله عليه وسلم help. He appealed to Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم that He صلى الله عليه وسلم should help him
in getting his amount from Abu Jahl.

Rasoolullah stood up and walked with the man towards Abu Jahl’s house.
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم ,the most daring among all the men
knocked on Abu Jahl’s door. He inquired who is it? Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم !(Come
out.”
Abu Jahl came out. When he saw Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم ,that very moment, his condition was that his face became white as if it was left without blood circulation.
Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
“Give this man his dues.” Abu Jahl said in a submissive voice: “Surely, will do.
You stay here and I will bring him his dues.

Abu Jahl went inside his house and returned with the amount which he had to pay to the Arashi businessman and handed to him. Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم asked him to return and proceed with his other activities.
The man was so happy that he returned to the Quraishi leaders who were still continuing with their meeting. He said to them: “Allah bless Him صلى الله عليه وسلم .By Allah!
He صلى الله عليه وسلم helped me in getting back my dues.

After few minutes, Abu Jahl came to the courtyard of Kaba. The Quraishi leaders were astonished.
They asked him disgustingly: “Poor creature! Why did you obey Muhammad
(صلى الله عليه وسلم ?(We never saw you doing so before?” He replied: “Wretched be all
By Allah! What
I heard Muhammad’s ( صلى الله عليه وسلم (voice, I suddenly felt tremendous fear and became like a puppet.
When I opened the door and looked at Him صلى الله عليه وسلم , I clearly saw a gigantic camel by His صلى الله عليه وسلم
side (which no one else saw).
I never saw such a fearful camel before. It had terrible head tooth and shoulders. By Allah! If I refused Mohammad’s (صلى الله عليه وسلم (orders, it would have eaten me up.”

*O MUSLIM*
*NEVER DELAY YOUR HELP*
*FOR HIS SAKE.*

This is the story that once happened to Hassan, Hussain and Abdullah Ibn Jafar Radiyallahu Anhum together with one Ansari man.

One day, these four men set out from Makkah to Madinah. On their way, a heavy downpour forced theme to take refuge in a Bedouin’s tent. When it stopped raining and the sky cleared, the Bedouin slaughtered a goat for his guests and entertained them well. They stayed with the Bedouin for three days. When they decided to leave, Abdullah Ibn Jafar said to the Bedouin: “When you come to Madinah, please meet us. We will be honored to receive you.”

A few years later, the Bedouin suffered some setbacks and his wife advised him, “Go to Madinah to see those young men who stayed with us as guests. Maybe you will find a way out of our hardship.” The Bedouin said, “I don’t even remember their names.”

Ask the people there about the son of Al Tayy’ar, the wife told.

*The Bedouin arrived in Madinah and met Hassan Radiyallahu Anhu who gave him one hundred she-camels.*
Then he went to see Hussain Radiyallahu Anhu who remarked, “By giving you the camels, Abu Muhammad sufficed us.”(That is, I would have given you the camels if he had not already done so.)
*So he gave him one hundred goats.*
Then the Bedouin made his way to Abdullah Ibn Jafar Radiyallahu Anhu, who said,
*My brothers gave you camels and goats. So I give you one thousand dirhams.*
Then the Bedouin went to the Ansari man who said,
*“I have no camels, goats or dirhams like my other companions but please bring the camels to me so I can load them with fruits.”*

*100 she-camels, 100 goats, 1,000 dirhams, 100 camels with loaded fruits on each- this was the reward the Bedouin received for his generous hospitality, a reward that continued to benefit him and his family for several generations.*

Allahu’akbar.
_____

*Subhan’Allah look at how Allah Azza Wa Jall rewards those people who do good to others, and those who help others for His Sake.*
We should all realize that when the Bedouin man sheltered his guests, he wasn’t aware that they were the grandsons (Hassan and Hussain) of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, nor was the a nephew (Abdullah Ibn Jafar) of Ali Ibn Abi Talib RA, yet look how he entertained them and treated them in that three days.

Alhamdulillah.

This story truly reminds us of the ayah:
*“Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.” Qur’an 16:97*

And how beautiful was the life this bedouin man was given that lasted for several generations in his family. Subhan’Allah.

*Remember to not delay your help for His Sake*,
so that when the time comes that you will be needing His Help, be assured that it wouldn’t be delayed as well, just like how when the Bedouin needed help, and he came to Madinah, and help was given and pour to him even just by seeing him, he didn’t even had to speak and ask, he was given immediately. Alhamdulillah.
