Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 11 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (22 Dec. 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 11. The Creator of the heavens and the earth. Allah has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 11. (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things). The mystery of sex has not only its physical aspects, but its moral and spiritual aspects, and therefore mankind is in this respect differentiated from the lower animals, and among mankind the grades and qualities are suggested by the phrase “from among yourselves”. As regards cattle, they are specially mentioned among the animals, as having special relations with man and specially sub-serving his needs, not only in the physical sphere, but also in the matter of transport, which is the key to all civilization and culture.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The world is but a (quick passing) enjoyment; and the best enjoyment of the world is a pious and virtuous woman”.

[Muslim Book # 08, Chapter 37, Hadith # 3465].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 011.” Allah has made for you mates from yourselves” This Hadith mentions the qualities of a virtuous partner in woman. When her husband looks at her, she pleases him; when he orders her, she obeys him; and when he is absent, she guards herself (chastity) and the property of her husband. (Abu Dawud and Nasa’i). This Hadith stresses the fact that if one wants success in this world and the Hereafter, he should select a pious wife. Rather than going after her beauty, lineage and wealth, one should give preference to her Faith over all other considerations. If he chooses a woman who is faithful to her Deen and strictly adheres to the Shari`ah, she would be a source of blessing for him in this life and the Hereafter.

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 10 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (21 Dec. 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 10. And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say to these polytheists) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 10. Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah, such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn. In the highest issues of life men may see things differently. If their differences arise merely from selfish motives, or narrowness of vision, they are sinning against their own souls. If their differences arise from sincere but mistaken notions, their proper course is not to form divisions and sects, or to increase contention and hatred among men, but to leave all things to Allah, trusting in Him and turning to Him in all difficulties. The final decision in all things is with Him.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate: “O Allah! To You I have submitted, and in You do I believe, and in You I put my trust, to You do I turn, and for You I argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with You through Your Power; there is none worthy of worship except You Alone; that You safeguard me against going astray. You are the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists; the One Who never dies, whereas human beings and jinn will all die”.

[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6561].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 010. “Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust” This Hadith mentions the importance of Dua and faith in Allah, inducement for having trust in Him and the distinction of people who have these qualities.  .

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 09 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (20 Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 9. Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya’ (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 9. What! Have they taken (for worship) protectors besides Him? But it is Allah,- He is the Protector, and it is He Who gives life to the dead: It is He Who has power over all Who has power over all things, There can be no greater ingratitude or blasphemy than to worship false gods, or to seek protection from things that have no power, when Allah—Who has power over all things—is always seeking to protect and cherish His creatures, and placing in their way all the means for attaining the best in them.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Between the two Blowing of the Trumpet there will be an interval of forty.” The people said, “O Abu Hurairah! Do you mean forty days?” He said, “I cannot say anything.” They said, “Do you mean forty years?” He said, “I cannot say anything.” They said, “Do you mean forty months?” He said, “I cannot say anything. The Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) added: Everything of the human body will perish except the last coccyx bone (end part of the spinal cord), and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body. Then Allah will send down water from the sky and people will grow like green vegetables’.”

[Al-Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 457].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 009. And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things. 1. When Israfil blows the Trumpet the first time, by Allah’s Leave, all those who are in the heavens and on earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah will. This will be the first Blowing. Then, it will be blown a second time, they will become alive and will emerge from their graves. These Blowing are known as the `Blowing of Fainting and Rising’. As regard the interval between these two Blowing, the narrator of the narration, Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him), could not say anything when he was asked about it; as he himself did not know it. But in other narrations the interval has been mentioned as forty years. 2. The earth eats away the whole body of humans except the bodies of the Prophets. However, only the end part of the spinal cord remains intact. How it remains intact is known to Allah, but from it mankind will be created again. 3. Bodies will rise from the earth as vegetation springs out from the earth after the rainfall.

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 08 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (19 Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 8. And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 8. If Allah had so willed, He could have made them a single people; but He admits whom He will to His Mercy; and the Wrong-doers will have no protector nor helper. Cf. 5:48. It is one of the Signs of Allah that He has made us different, that we may be tried in the exercise of our will, and that we may reach, through righteousness and Faith, our highest development, and enjoy His gifts of Mercy and Grace. But we must not become contentious, and fall into evil: we must understand our own limitations. Otherwise, we shall lose His grace and protection.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH), “The deceased is tortured in his grave for bewailing over him.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 02, Chapter 23, Hadith # 379]

Lesson: “Bewailing” is wailing over the dead. It is weeping loudly for the deceased describing his noble qualities or the problems created by his death. Wailing causes trouble to the deceased if he willed his heirs to do so, or in his own life he behaved in the same manner and his family members were following his style of mourning at his death. But if the deceased had forbidden his relatives from wailing over his death and they do it despite his warning against doing so, then the deceased will not suffer any torment on their wailing because his intention and training have no connection with it. The Quranic injunction in this matter is absolutely clear: “No one laden with burdens can bear another’s burden.” (17:15).

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 07 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (18 Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 7. And thus, Allah have inspired unto you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) a Qur’an (in Arabic) that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it. And warn of the Day of Assembling, of which there is no doubt, when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah’s Messenger ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah’s Messenger ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) brought them)

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat to 7. Thus have Allah sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qur´an: that Prophet ﷺ SAWW PBUH may warn the Mother of Cities and all around her, – and warn (them) of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be in the Garden, and some in the Blazing Fire. The point of the Qur’an being in Arabic is that it is plain and intelligible to the people through whom and among whom it was promulgated; see next clause. The City of Makkah . See 6:92. This is undoubtedly a Makkan verse. Even apart from the Qiblah, Makkah is the center of Islam, and “all around her” is the whole world. The contrast is again emphasized, as explained in the Summary.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  ,”Allah created all the creatures and when He finished the task of His creation, Ar-Rahm (ties of relationship) said: `(O Allah) at this place I seek refuge with You against severing my ties.’ Allah said: `That I treat with kindness those who treat you with kindness and sever ties with those who sever ties with you.’ It said: `I am satisfied.’ Allah said: `Then this is yours”. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Recite this Ayah if you like: `Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship? Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight”. (47:22,23).

[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 16].

The words in Al-Bukhari are: Messenger of Allah ﷺ (PBUH) said, “Allah (SWT) says: `He who maintains good ties with you, I maintain good ties with him; and he who severs your ties, I sever ties with him”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 17]

Lesson : This Hadith also stresses the importance of proper treatment with relatives for the reason that this is a special means of attaining the nearness and Mercy of Allah. A conduct contrary to it, that is to say, devouring the rights of relatives and continuation of estrangement with them, is the cause of displeasure and Wrath of Allah.

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 06. Daily Qur’an & Hadith (17 Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 6. And as for those who take as Auliya’ (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc.).

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat to 6. And those who take as protectors others besides Him, Allah doth watch over them; and thou art not the disposer of their affairs. We now come to the contrast, the folly and ingratitude of man. But that cannot escape its final doom in the Universal Plan of Allah. Only Judgment rests with Allah. A Prophet is not responsible for the conduct of men, in a system which permits some limited free will and personal responsibility.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported A person came to : The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) and asked, “Who among people is most deserving of my fine treatment?” He ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Your mother”. He again asked, “Who next?” “Your mother”, the Prophet   [SAWW](PBUH) replied again. He asked, “Who next?” He (the Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH)) said again, “Your mother.” He again asked, “Then who?” Thereupon he ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,” Then your father.”

In another narration: “O Messenger of Allah! Who is most deserving of my fine treatment?” He   [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then your nearest, then nearest”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 02]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al- Ankabut Ayat 08. “Allah have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents” This Hadith tells us that the rights of the mother are three times more important than that of the father for the reasons that:

1 She is weaker than her father.

2. The following three troubles are borne exclusively by the mother while the father does not share them with her:

a) She carries the baby in her womb for nine months,

b) The labor pain which she suffers.

c) Two years’ period of suckling which disturbs her sleep at night and affects her health, She has also to be very cautious in her food for the welfare of the baby.

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 05 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (16 Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 5. Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty), and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth, verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 5. The heavens are almost rent asunder from above them (by Him Glory): and the angels celebrate the Praises of their Lord, and pray for forgiveness for (all) beings on earth: Behold! Verily Allah is He, the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. How can we conceive of sublimity and greatness in a higher degree than this, that the highest heavens are almost ready to burst asunder by His Glory, which is higher than all? The angels are the noblest and purest beings of whom we can conceive. They reflect on the one side Allah’s Glory and Praise, and on the other, two other attributes of Allah, that look towards His erring creatures, viz.: Forgiveness and Mercy. The two sets of attributes are complementary. They thus proclaim in their own being and in their prayers the Greatness and unbounded Goodness of Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The superiority of the learned over the devout worshipper is like my superiority over the most inferior amongst you (in good deeds).” He went on to say, “Allah, His angels, the dwellers of the heaven and the earth, and even the ant in its hole and the fish (in water) supplicate in favor of those who teach people knowledge.”

[At-Tirmidhi, Hadith # 2685]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 05. “The angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth” Alim (learned person) here means scholar of the Qur’an and Hadith, who adheres to Faraid and Sunnah and remains busy in learning and imparting knowledge. `Abid (devout worshipper) is one who spends most of his time in the worship of Allah. The benefit of his voluntary prayer and remembrance of Allah is restricted to his own self while the benefit of knowledge of the scholar reaches others also. Hence, of the two, the latter is far superior. If Salat is mentioned with reference to Allah, it denotes “Allah’s Grace with Mercy;” if it is mentioned with reference to the angels, it denotes “to pray for forgiveness;” and if it is mentioned with reference to other creatures – men, animals, etc., – then it means prayer and supplication. Thus, Allah graces that person with His Mercy who teaches people the beneficial knowledge, i.e., the knowledge of Islam; angels pray to Allah to forgive his (or her) sins; and other creatures pray for his (or her) well-being. In this way, this Hadith stresses the distinction of religious scholars and highlights the esteem in which they are held by Allah, His angels and His other creatures.

Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 01 to 04 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (15, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[42]. Surah Ash-Shura [The Consultation]

Ayat 1. Hâ-Mîm. Ayat 2. ‘Aîn-Sîn-Qâf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

Ayat 3. Likewise, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise inspires you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) as (Allah inspired Prophets) those before you.

Ayat 4. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat to 4, Ayat 1. Ha Mim, Ayat 2. ´Ain. Sin. Qaf. This Surah has a double set of Abbreviated Letters, one in the first verse, and one in this second verse. No authoritative explanation of this second set is available, and I refrain from speculation. Ayat 3. Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee, Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. Inspiration is full of Power and Wisdom, and both these qualities are derived from the Power and Wisdom of Allah. Unlike human power, this Power is necessarily good and merciful; unlike human wisdom, this Wisdom is necessarily complete and indisputable. Ayat 4. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: and He is Most High, Most Great. We cannot conceive the distance which separates the Most High from the highest of His creatures. Allah Most Great from the greatest of the beings that we can imagine. The highest heavens are mentioned in the next verse, as well as the noblest creatures that we can imagine, the angels.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said to Jibril (Gabriel), “What prevents you from visiting us more frequently?” Thereupon was revealed the Ayah: “(The angels say:) `And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Rubb. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two”. (19:64)

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 255].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shura Ayat 3. Likewise Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise inspires you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) as (Allah inspired Prophets) those before you” This Hadith tells us about the Prophet’s desire for meeting angel Jibril (Gabriel) to have that knowledge which was revealed to him by means of Wahy (Revelation). It also tells us that angels descend to earth for certain missions by the Command of Allah. They have no say of their own in any matter. It also indicates that it is permissible to inquire about Muslim brothers after a long period of time as this is a sign of true love.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 54 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (14, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 54. Verily! They (disbelievers) are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (I.e. Resurrection after their deaths, and their return to their Lord). Verily! He is Who is surrounding all things!

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 54. Ah indeed! Are they in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Ah indeed! It is He that doth encompass all things! Short-sighted people may like to think that there may be no judgement. But Judgment is inevitable and cannot be escaped, for Allah “doth encompass all things.”

*These are the last Ayats of 41st Surah of Al-Quran Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail] ; this Surah contained 54 Ayats, Insha Allah from tomorrow 42nd Surah of Al-Quran Surah Ash-Shura will start.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) as saying, “Mankind will stand before Allah, the Rubb of the worlds (on the Day of Resurrection), some of them will stand submerged in perspiration up to half of their ears”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 460].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 54. Verily! They (disbelievers) are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (I.e. Resurrection after their deaths, and their return to their Lord)” This Hadith gives us a glimpse of the horrible scene of the Resurrection when people will stand in awe before Allah.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 53 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (13, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 53.  Allah will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur’an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 53. Soon will Allah show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) recited, “That Day it (the earth) will reveal its news (about all that happened over it of good or evil).” (99:4). Then he  ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) inquired, “Do you know what its news are?” He was told: “Allah and His Messenger ﷺ know better”. He said, “Its news is that it shall bear witness against every slave man and woman they did on its back. It will say: `You did this and this on such and such day.’ Those will be its news.”

[At-Tirmidhi, Hadith # 2429]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 53. “Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?  It has a stern warning for people that however they may try to hide their sins from others, they will not be able to save themselves from Allah and His system of accountability. This Hadith makes evident the perfect Omnipotence of Allah by telling us that He will bestow power of speech on the earth and it will bear witness to the acts committed on its surface. It’s very easy for us modern humans to understand with technology at its peak, as Hadith says `”You did this and this on such and such day”. Recording of each action via CCTV and other sources of surveillance Camera recording, each and every move made by us, the earth bears witness against us. It will say: `You did this and this on such and such day.
