Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 41 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (02nd Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 41. Verily, those who disbelieved in the Reminder (i.e. the Qur’an) when it came to them (shall receive the punishment). And verily, it is an honorable respected Book (because it is Allah’s Speech, and He has protected it from corruption, etc.).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 41. Those who reject the Message when it comes to them (are not hidden from Us). And indeed, it is a Book of exalted power. Mere rejection by men will not silence the Signs of Allah, which will work un intermittently and with the fullest potency.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Verily, Allah likes three things for you and disapproves three things for you. He likes that you should worship Him Alone, not to associate anything with Him (in worship) and to hold fast to the Rope of Allah (the Quran) and not to be divided among yourselves; and He disapproves for you irrelevant talk, persistent questioning and the squandering of the wealth.”

[Muslim Book 018, Chapter 03, Hadith # 4255].”

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 41 “verily, it is an honorable respected Book (because it is Allah’s Speech, and He has protected it from corruption, etc.)” Besides stressing Tauhid, holding fast to the Rope of Allah and unity (which are greatly liked by Allah), this Hadith forbids unnecessary debate, hair-splitting and extravagance as all the three are disliked by Allah. Wealth has a great importance in man’s life since it is the very source of sustenance and basis of his livelihood, its wastage is akin to cutting the branch of the tree on which one is sitting.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 40 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (01, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 40. Verily, those who turn away from Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc. by attacking, distorting and denying them), are not hidden from Us. Is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do what you will. Verily! He is All-Seer of what you do (this is a severe threat to the disbelievers).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 40. Those who pervert the Truth in Our Signs are not hidden from Us. Which is better?- he that is cast into the Fire, or he that comes safe through, on the Day of Judgment? Do what ye will: verily He sees (clearly) all that ye do. Pervert the Truth in Our Signs: either by corrupting the scriptures or turning them to false and selfish uses; or by neglecting the Signs of Allah in nature around them, or silencing His voice in their own conscience. Everything is known to Allah. Why not work for true salvation at the final Judgment?.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “May he be miserable, the worshipper of the dinar and dirham, and the worshipper of the striped silk cloak. If he is given anything, he is satisfied; but if not, he is unsatisfied”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 52, Hadith # 137]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 40. Verily, those who turn away from Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc. by attacking, distorting and denying them)” This Hadith exposed a person who prefers worldly things over life hereafter. “A slave of dinar and dirham and silk cloaks (clothes)” here means a person who prefers these things to the Divine injunctions and commands and strives day and night to amass worldly goods. Instead of worshipping Allah, he worships such things and is thus guilty of worship of others besides Allah, a condition which causes his ruin.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 39 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (30th Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 39. And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely, (He) is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed! He is Able to do all things.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 39. And among His Signs in this: thou see the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things. Evil makes the souls of men what drought makes of land: it kills life, beauty, and fruitfulness. Allah’s Word in the spiritual world has the same wonderful effect as rain has on barren land; it gives life, beauty, and fruitfulness. And the effect of Allah’s Word is also seen through the lives of men who repel evil with what is better. They also convert dead souls (which harbor spite and hatred) into living souls, which come into the main current of spiritual life, and help in carrying out Allah’s beneficent Purpose. Why should we wonder then at the potency of Allah’s Word, whether in our probationary lives here, or in the eternal life of the Hereafter.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The similitude of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like a rain which has fallen on some ground. A fertile part of earth has absorbed water and brought forth much grass and herbs. Another part, which is solid, held the water and Allah benefited men thereby, who drank and gave others to drink, and used it for irrigation. But some of it has fallen on a portion of sandy land which neither retains the water nor produces herbage. Such is the likeness of the man who understands the religion of Allah and who gets benefit of what Allah has sent me with; he learns and teaches others. It is also the likeness of the man who neither raises his head on that account (meaning he does not benefit from what the Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) was sent with) nor accepts Allah’s Guidance with which I am sent”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 01, Chapter 03, Hadith # 079]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 39. And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). In this Hadith the guidance and knowledge which was sent to mankind through the Prophet ﷺ (PBUH) is compared to the rain which is beneficial, because this knowledge resuscitates the dead hearts as does the rain to a barren land. One who makes use of this knowledge is likened to a good soil, and one who acquires this knowledge and imparts it to others but does not put it into practice is considered akin to a hard land which holds water and other people utilize it. A person who neither learns it nor acts upon it is like a desolate land which neither holds water nor produces anything. Such a person is the worst of all because he neither himself benefits from it nor lets others make use of it. This Hadith induces one to acquire knowledge, impart it to others, put it into actual practice and warns people from neglecting this duty.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 38 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (29 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 38. But if they (disbelievers) are too proud (to do so), then there are those who are with your Lord (angels) glorify Him night and day, and never are they tired.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 38. But the (Unbelievers) are arrogant, (no matter): for in the presence of thy Lord are those who celebrate His praises by night and by day. And they never flag (nor feel themselves above it). It does not in any way affect Allah if men rebel against Him. It is men’s own loss. Allah’s glory is being celebrated night and day by angels and men who receive the privilege of approaching His presence. To them it is a delight and an honor to be in the sunshine of Truth and Happiness.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear; heaven has squeaked, and it has right to do so. By Him, in Whose Hand my soul is, there is not a space of four fingers in which there is not an angel who is prostrating his forehead before Allah, the Exalted. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little, weep much, and you would not enjoy women in beds, but would go out to the open space beseeching Allah”.

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2312]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 38. But if they (disbelievers) are too proud (to do so), then there are those who are with your Lord (angels) glorify Him night and day, and never are they tired” This Hadith also highlights the importance of fear of Allah because the more awareness a Muslim has of the Majesty and Magnificence of Allah, the greater shall be the terror in his heart for His punishment and hope of His Mercy. With this state of mind, he will perform greater acts of obedience and abstain more rigidly from sins. 2. The Hadith also mentions the heaven teeming with angels who are all the time prostrating before Allah in worship. When this is the condition of the angels, who do not slack for a moment in the obedience of Allah, how important it is for man to worship Him because he is all the time violating commands of Allah. It is, therefore, incumbent on man to obey Allah and always seek His Help and Refuge.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 37 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (28 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 37. And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostration not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 37. Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Adore not the sun and the moon, but adore Allah, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve. Night and Day are opposites, and yet, by the alchemy of Allah, they can both serve the purpose of human good, because the Night can give rest while the Day can promote activity. The Sun and the Moon are similarly complementary. So, in moral and spiritual affairs, seeming opposites may by Allah’s alchemy be made to sub serve the purposes of Good. They are but instruments: Allah is the Cause. Adore Allah, and not the things which He has created. Use the things which He has created, but do not adore them.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Zaid bin Khalid (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) led the Fajr prayer at Al-Hudaibiyah after a rainfall during the night. At the conclusion of prayer, he turned towards the people and said, “Do you know what your Rubb has said?” They replied: “Allah and His Messenger know better.” Upon this he remarked, “He has said: `Some of My slaves have entered the morning as My believers and some as unbelievers. He who said: We have had a rainfall due to the Grace and Mercy of Allah, believes in Me and disbelieves in the stars; and he who said: We have had a rainfall due to the rising of such and such star, disbelieves in Me and affirms his faith in the stars.”’

[Al-Bukhari Book 01, Chapter 12, Hadith # 807].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 37. And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostration not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him” (1). Since Allah is the Real Creator and Maker of all things and events, these should without any exception be attributed to Him Alone. If a reference is made to the cause or causes which occasion an incident or event, it is permissible but to ascribe them entirely to some factor or factors is the conduct of polytheists and amounts to Shirk and Kufr. (2). People of the Period of Ignorance used to ascribe the rain which occurred at the appearance or setting of some star, to that star and would thus accept it as the real cause of it. In this Hadith, such ascription has been regarded as Kufr and Shirk.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 36 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (27 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 36. And if an evil whisper from Shaitan (Satan) tries to turn you away (from doing good, etc.), then seek refuge in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 36. And if (at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things. Nazagha has in it the idea of discord, slander, disharmony, as well as incitements to such disturbances in the soul. They can only proceed from evil, and should be resisted with the help of Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Said Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, “When one of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah. He should praise Allah for it and relate it to (others).”

Another narration adds: The Messenger of Allah  ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “He should not report it except to those whom he loves. And if he sees one which he dislikes, then it is from Satan. He should seek refuge in Allah against its evil and should not mention it to anyone. Then it will not harm him.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 09, Chapter 87, Hadith # 114]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 36. And if an evil whisper from Shaitan (Satan) tries to turn you away (from doing good, etc.), then seek refuge in Allah” There are clear instructions from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (PBUH) about both good and bad dreams. A good dream means the good news sent by Allah to a person who has seen it. It should be related only to those who are close to his heart and not to such people who may start nourishing malice against him like the brothers of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). A bad dream should be attributed to Satan and not be described to others because it often causes one to be pessimistic and it may be taken as a bad omen, which is not allowed in Islam. Rather, a man should seek Allah’s Refuge against its evil. And if he puts faith in Allah, no harm will come to him.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 34 & 35 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (26 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 34. The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.

Ayat 35. But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 34 and 35. Nor can goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: Then will he between whom and you was hatred become as if they were thy friend and intimate! You do not return good for evil, for there is no equality or comparison between the two. You repel or destroy evil with something which is far better, just as an antidote is better than poison. You foil hatred with love. You repel ignorance with knowledge, folly and wickedness with the friendly message of Revelation. The man who was in the bondage of sin, you not only liberate from sin, but made him your greatest friend and helper in the cause of Allah! Such is the alchemy of the Word of Allah! (Cf. 23:96, 28:54, and 42:40). Ayat 35. And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint, none but persons of the greatest good fortune. The moral standard referred to in the last verse can only be reached by the exercise of the highest patience and self-restraint. All sorts of human weaknesses and counsels of pseudo-wisdom and “self-respect” will keep breaking in, but resist them as suggestions of Evil (see next verse). If you reach anywhere near that high standard, you will be indeed most fortunate in a spiritual sense, for Allah’s Revelation will have made you great and free.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their reward being diminished in any respect, and if anyone invites others to follow error, the sin, will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him (in sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect”.

[Muslim Book # 06, Chapter 34, Hadith # 6470].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 34 “Repel (the evil) with one which is better” Invitation’ and `Call’ stand to mean here that someone induces others to virtue or seduces to sin by means of his speech or action. We come to know from this Hadith that one who becomes a medium for either of them is given a reward or punishment respectively by Allah (SWT).

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 33 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (25 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 33. And who is better in speech than he who [says: “My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness),” and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah’s (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: “I am one of the Muslims.”

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 33. Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah, works righteousness, and says, “I am of those who bow in Islam”? Better in speech: i.e., speaks better counsel; or is more worthy of being listened to. That his word reaches the highest mark of human speech is evidenced by three facts: (1) that he calls all to the Truth of Allah, showing that his thoughts are not centered on himself; (2) every deed of his is righteousness, showing that there is no divergence between his preaching and his conduct; and (3) he completely associates himself with the Will of Allah, showing that he is the full embodiment of Islam. What a fine description of the Prophet!.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Uthman bin `Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 61, Hadith # 545].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 33. And who is better in speech than he who [says: “My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness),” and then stands straight” This Hadith tells us excellence of people who learn the Quran and then spend their time teaching to others.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 31 & 32 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (24 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 31. “We have been your friends in the life of this world and are (so) in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for.

Ayat 32. “An entertainment from (Allah), the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 31. “We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!” Protectors”: a key-thought for the Ha Mim Surahs Cf. 41:25, and 41:34 Cf. 21:102, 43:71, 52:22. 32. “A hospitable gift from One Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!” Cf. 3:198. Through Allah’s infinite Mercy and Forgiveness, they will now be in the position of guests to Host, and will receive unnumbered gifts out of all proportion to their own merits.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “He who goes to the masjid in the morning or in the evening, Allah prepares for him a place in Jannah whenever he goes to the masjid in the morning and returns from it in the evening.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 01,Chapter 11, Hadith # 631]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 31. “We have been your friends in the life of this world and are (so) in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for” This Hadith points out the merit of going on foot to the mosque for Salat, no matter whether one goes in the morning or the evening. In fact, the heart of a Muslim should be attached to mosques and on account of this, he goes there at all the prescribed hours of Salat to perform his Salat in congregation.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 30 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (23 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 30. Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah (Alone),” and then they Istaqamu , on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): “Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 30. In the case of those who say, “Our Lord is Allah, and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): “Fear ye not!” (They suggest), “Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised! The people who succeed in eternal Life are those who recognize and understand the one and only Eternal Reality, that is Allah, and further shape their probationary Lite firmly and steadfastly on the principles of that Truth and Reality. They will have their friends and protectors in the good angels, in contrast to the evil ones, who will have no friendship or protection, but only the reproaches of the Evil Ones.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not.”

[Abu Dawud Hadith # 1518].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat. 30. Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah (Alone),” and then they Istaqamu , on them the angels will descend” By seeking forgiveness, a relationship with Allah is established between man and his Creator. So seeking forgiveness is a very good act. Allah likes those people who, after committing a sin, do not stick to it, but right away seek forgiveness for their sins from Allah. They weep and express sorrow before Allah.
