Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 30 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (23 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 30. Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah (Alone),” and then they Istaqamu , on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): “Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 30. In the case of those who say, “Our Lord is Allah, and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): “Fear ye not!” (They suggest), “Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised! The people who succeed in eternal Life are those who recognize and understand the one and only Eternal Reality, that is Allah, and further shape their probationary Lite firmly and steadfastly on the principles of that Truth and Reality. They will have their friends and protectors in the good angels, in contrast to the evil ones, who will have no friendship or protection, but only the reproaches of the Evil Ones.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not.”

[Abu Dawud Hadith # 1518].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat. 30. Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah (Alone),” and then they Istaqamu , on them the angels will descend” By seeking forgiveness, a relationship with Allah is established between man and his Creator. So seeking forgiveness is a very good act. Allah likes those people who, after committing a sin, do not stick to it, but right away seek forgiveness for their sins from Allah. They weep and express sorrow before Allah.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 29 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (22 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 29. And those who disbelieve will say: “Our Lord! Show us those among jinns and men who led us astray, we shall crush them under our feet, so that they become the lowest.”

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 29. And the Unbelievers will say: “Our Lord! Show us those, among Jinns and men, who misled us: We shall crush them beneath our feet, so that they become the vilest (before all).” It is one of the qualities of sin and all evil, that it wishes to drag down others in its own camp, and rejoices to see them humiliated and disgraced, just as, in the opposite case, the good rejoice to help and honor others and make them happy wherever they can. Cf. 6:112-113.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Usamah bin Zaid (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be cast into Hell, and his intestines will pour forth and he will go round them as a donkey goes round a millstone. The inmates of Hell will gather round him and say: `What has happened to you, O so-and-so? Were you not enjoining us to do good and forbidding us to do evil?’ He will reply: `I was enjoining you to do good, but was not doing it myself; and I was forbidding you to do evil, but was doing it myself”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 54, Hadith # 489].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 29. And those who disbelieve will say: “Our Lord! Show us those among jinns and men who led us astray, we shall crush them under our feet, so that they become the lowest.” This Hadith serves a stern warning for such `Ulama’, preachers so called scholars and reformers of the Ummah whose own conduct is contrary to the sermons they give from the pulpit.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 28 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (21 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 28. That is the recompense of the enemies of Allah: The Fire, therein will be for them the eternal home, a (deserving) recompense for that they used to deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 28. Such is the requital of the enemies of Allah, the Fire: therein will be for them the Eternal Home: a (fit) requital, for that they were wont to reject Our Signs.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Every one of my followers will be forgiven except those who expose (openly) their wrongdoings. An example of this is that of a man who commits a sin at night which Allah has covered for him, and in the morning, he would say (to people): “I committed such and such sin last night,’ while Allah had kept it a secret. During the night Allah has covered it up but, in the morning, he tears up the cover provided by Allah Himself.”

[Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 95].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah 28. “That is the recompense of the enemies of Allah: The Fire, therein will be for them the eternal home, a (deserving) recompense for that they used to deny Our Ayat” We learn from this Hadith that commission of a sin due to human frailties on which one is ashamed but does not like to express is something which might hopefully be forgiven by Allah. In fact, its remission after penitence is almost certain. But to commit a sin openly is totally different because, firstly, the heart of such a person is deprived of the fear of Allah. Secondly, he has no respect and regard for Divine injunctions. Thirdly, such a person usually does not repent his sins. Fourthly, he makes a declaration of breach of Divine injunctions which amounts to inviting His wrath and punishment.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 27 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (20 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 27. But surely, Allah shall cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe torment, and certainly, Allah shall requite them the worst of what they used to do.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 27. But Allah will certainly give the Unbelievers a taste of a severe Penalty, and Allah will require them for the worst of their deeds. Nothing that they can do, however outrageous, will escape its fit punishment. And to reject Allah’s Signs is to shut the very door to His Grace and Mercy.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Hell will be brought on that Day (the Day of Resurrection) with seventy thousand bridles; and with every bridle will be seventy thousand angels, pulling it”. [Muslim Book 40, Chapter 12, Hadith # 6810].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah 27. But surely, Allah shall cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe torment,” This Hadith deals with the hidden matters relating to the Unseen world. Muslims are ordained by Allah to believe in them. It is wrong to hold them as metaphorical. They are realities but we cannot imagine them.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 26 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (19 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 26. And those who disbelieve say: “Listen not to this Qur’an, and make noise in the midst of its (recitation) that you may overcome.”

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 26. The Unbelievers say: “Listen not to this Qur´an, but talk at random in the midst of its (reading), that ye may gain the upper hand!” A favorite trick of those who wish to dishonor Revelation is, not only not to listen to it themselves, but to talk loudly and insolently when it is being read, so that even the true listeners may not be able to perform their devotions. They think that they are drowning the voice of Allah: in fact they are piling up misery for themselves in the future. For Allah’s voice can never be silenced.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Nawwas bin Suman (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ  [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The Qur’an and its people who applied it, will be brought on the Day of Resurrection preceded with Surat Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-`Imran arguing on behalf of those who applied them.”

[Muslim Book 04, Chapter 133, Hadith # 1759].

Lesson : Strive against them (by preaching) with the utmost Endeavour, with it (the Qur’an)” This Hadith means that on the Day of Requital, the Qur’an, with Surat Al-Baqarah and Al-`Imran in the forefront, will intercede before Allah for those who used to recite and act upon them in the life of the world.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 25 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (18 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 25. And Allah have assigned them (devils) intimate companions (in this world), who have made fair-seeming to them, what was before them (evil deeds which they were doing in the present worldly life and disbelief in the Reckoning and the Resurrection, etc.) and what was behind them (denial of the matters in the coming life of the Hereafter as regards punishment or reward, etc.). And the Word (i.e. the torment) is justified against them as it was justified against those who were among the previous generations of jinns and men that had passed away before them. Indeed they (all) were the losers.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 25. And Allah have destined for them intimate companions (of like nature), who made alluring to them what was before them and behind them; and the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, who have passed away, is proved against them; for they are utterly lost. Just as the idea of happiness in heaven is expressed, not only by individual satisfaction, but by congenial society, so the idea of Punishment in hell is deepened by the fact that Evil will be made to meet evil: those who made sin fair seeming in this life will be there to share in the regrets and mutual recriminations which will make life a burden. In fact, in these Ha Mim verses, the idea of fit companionship for the Good and uncongenial company for the Evil, runs like a thread throughout. They painted in glowing colors the pleasures of sin in the past and the pleasure of sin in the future, thus practicing a double deception, which will now be found out. Jinns: see 6:100. All spirits of wickedness and all men who submitted to them, in the past, were under one common sentence; and future generations who embrace evil will also join them. Cf. 6:128. The echo here of verse 23 above completes the argument from another point of view.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: We were repairing our thatch hut when Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) passed by and asked us, “What are you doing?” We said, “The thatch had gone weak and we are repairing it.” He   [SAWW](PBUH) said, “I see the sure thing (death) approaching sooner than this.”

[Tirmizi Hadith # 2335].

Lesson : “A house, but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider’s house; if they but knew” The word “Khuss” means a hut or a house which is made of wood and reed/bamboo and plastered with mud. The Hadith reminds us to be mindful of death at all times and be certain that there is nothing nearer to us than it. It also tells us that we should not engage in those worldly things which are bound to make us forget about our appointed term in this world.  .

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 23 & 24 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (17 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 23. And that thought of yours which you thought about your Lord, has brought you to destruction, and you have become (this Day) of those utterly lost!

Ayat 24. Then, if they have patience, yet the Fire will be a home for them, and if they beg for to be excused, yet they are not of those who will ever be excused.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 23. “But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!” ‘You now see the situation! We were given for your use and service. You misused us, to your own utter and irretrievable destruction!” Ayat 24. If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received. If they have patience: there is sarcasm in the meaning. “Let them not be impatient; they will soon find a home in the Fire of Hell! If they ask for grace and forgiveness then, it will be too late.”

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) while he was reciting (Surah At-Takathur 102): “The mutual rivalry (for hoarding worldly things) preoccupy you. Until you visit the graves (i.e., till you die). (102:1-8) (After reciting) he (PBUH) said, “Son of Adam says: `My wealth, my wealth.’ Do you own of your wealth other than what you eat and consume, and what you wear and wear out, or what you give in Sadaqah (charity) (to those who deserve it), and that what you will have in stock for yourself.”

[Muslim Book 01, Chapter 42, Hadith # 7061].

Lesson: Allah knows that which goes into the earth (rain water, treasure) and that which comes forth from it, This Hadith enjoins if a person given wealth, he or she should spend it in way liked by Allah because it is this Sadaqah which will be a valuable treasure in the Afterlife. Whatever else he or she consumes in this world, will finish or rot in this world and will be of no avail in Hereafter.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 22 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (16 Nov 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 22. And you (disbelievers) have not been hiding against yourselves, lest your ears, and your eyes, and your skins testify against you, but you thought that Allah knew not much of what you were doing.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 22. “Ye did not seek to hide yourselves, lest your hearing, your sight, and your skins should bear witness against you! But ye did think that Allah knew not many of the things that ye used to do! The limbs and faculties will say: “You did not seek to hide your evil from us: in fact you used us for your evil, because we were in your power. Did you not know that Allah knew everything and that our knowledge would be evidence against you?

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Bara bin Azib (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “When a believer is questioned in the grave, he testifies that, `there is no true god except Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.’ About him the Words of Allah, the Exalted, are: `Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the firm statement (The Testimony of Faith) in this world and the Hereafter)”. (14:27)

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 221].

Lesson: This Hadith mentions both the parts of the Shahada together, that is to say “La ilaha illallah, Muhammad-ur-Rasul ullah” (There is no true god except Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) is the Messenger of Allah). The questioning in the grave is beyond question and is a part of Muslim Belief. Every Muslim will, by the Grace of Allah, give their correct answers in respect of Tauhid and Risalah.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 21 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (15 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 21. And they (disbelievers) will say to their skins, “Why do you testify against us?” They will say: “Allah has caused us to speak, as He causes all things to speak, and He created you the first time, and to Him you are made to return.”

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 21. They will say to their skins “Why bear you witness against us?” They will say: “(Allah) hath given us speech,- (He) Who gives speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return. A new phase of their existence will now dawn on them. They used to think that if they concealed their evil deeds from the rest of the world, nothing would happen to them! But Allah can give “tongues to trees”, and can make every fact in life, known and unknown to the world, contribute to the elucidation of truth and justice. “Speech” on behalf of their senses and faculties should of course be understood figuratively. When we succumb to evil, our limbs and faculties betray us.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “I know of the last of the inhabitants of the Hell to be taken out from there and the last one to enter Jannah. He is a man who will come out of the Fire, crawling on all fours. Allah, the Rubb of glory and honour will say to him: `Go and enter Jannah.’ He will go to it and think that it is full up. He will then come back and say: `O my Rubb, it is full up.’ Allah will say to him: `Go and enter Jannah.’ He will again go to it and think that it is full up. So, he will turn back. Allah will again say: `Go and enter Jannah. For you have what is equal to ten times the world.’ He will say: `Are You making fun of me while You are the King?” At this I (i.e., the narrator) saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) laugh till his premolars were visible and he said, “Such man will be the last dweller of Jannah in its lowest rank.”

[Al-Bukhari Hadith # 6571 and Muslim Hadith # 359].

Lesson : as mentioned “and who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success”. The general habit of the Prophet ﷺ (PBUH) was just to smile. But while talking about the gifts and honors about an ordinary person in Jannah, he could not help laughing in a manner that his molars became visible. The person on the lowest pedestal in Jannah will be given ten times better things and gifts that could he had on this earth. May Allah admit us into Jannah in His Mercy. Ameen.

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 19 & 20 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (14 Nov, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 19. And (remember) the Day that the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire, so they will be collected there (the first and the last). 20. Till, when they reach it (Hell-fire), their hearing (ears) and their eyes, and their skins will testify against them as to what they used to do.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 19. On the Day that the enemies of Allah will be gathered together to the Fire, they will be marched in ranks. “Marched in ranks”: to show their further humiliation; for they will be like prisoners going to Punishment. Ayat 20. At length, when they reach the (Fire), their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them, as to (all) their deeds. All the members of their bodies and the faculties of their minds, which they misused, will bear witness against them. Similarly, in 36:65, their hands and their feet bear witness against them. The “skin” not only includes the sense of touch (which is so often misused in sex), but also the sense of taste and the sense of smell, which are specialized forms of the organ of touch. All the sensory organs, and all their intellectual and emotional counterparts advance us by their use and pull us down by their misuse. They become tell-tale witnesses against us if abused.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, “Two eyes will never be touched by the fire of Hell; an eye which weeps out of Fear of Allah and an eye which spends the night in guarding in the Cause of Allah.”

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 1639].

Lesson : This Hadith tells us about the eminence of the person who weeps out of Fear of Allah and also brings into prominence the distinction of the Mujahid who keeps a vigil during Jihad.
