Dont Ridicule Others

DAY 27 : DON’T RIDICULE OTHERS

“…O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.”

[Surah Al Hujurat 49:11]

We’re aware – whether we admit to it or not – that we tend to talk of people a lot more than is required. Whether it be our families or our colleagues or our friends, we are engaged in spreading rumours and encouraging backbiting ignorantly. And for some people it has become so fixed into their subconscious that they do it without even realising it’s ill effects and understanding that it is a wrong and highly discouraged practise.

Islam teaches us to be polite and dignified in our character.

We shouldn’t participate in tarnishing people without knowing the truth. We should mind our tongues and keep ourselves away from all that doesn’t concern us. We need to be more worried about our own flaws and should be always working on improving ourselves.

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى sincerely guide us to rectify our relationships with our kith and kin and aid us in thinking the best of everyone, اللهم آمين
