Surah Al Isra – Ayah 13 & 14

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah Al-Isra Ayat 13 & 14_*

*_”And for every person We have fastened his fate to his neck; and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will find wide open.”(13)_*

*_”(It will be said to him), Read your book.” Sufficient is yourself against you today as accountant.”(14)_*

_”We have fastened the augury (a sign of what will happen in the future), of every man to his own neck”; therefore one does not need to take omens from a bird; (This is to remove the superstition of the disbelievers who used to take omens from birds etc.), as if to say, “The causes and consequences of good fortune or bad fate exist in man’s own person. He merits good fortune because of his own good conduct and good judgment, and likewise, suffers the consequences of evil fate by the lack of these”._

_On the *’Day of Judgement’,* Our real fate depends upon our deeds, good or evil, and they will hang around our necks, so that we can clearly see them without any doubt._ Thus we have here a *metaphor* referring to what flies of a *person’s actions and becomes tied around his neck, so that it never parts from him*. Thus does the Qur’ān in *graphically* describing things in order to emphasize its point. *A person’s actions do not leave him, and he cannot disown them*. The same applies to the wide open record of all his actions. Thus whatever he has done in life is laid bare, a person cannot hide, ignore or disown it

*Act for the Day is:* _To be aware of the fact that, “Our true accusers are our own deeds.” Let’s look to our own deeds instead of vainly prying into other’s._‼️
_*These deeds, good or evil, will be embodied in a scroll which will be quite open to us in the light of the Day of Judgement, however much we may affect to be ignorant of it now or waste our energies in prying into mysteries that do not concern us.*_

It has been reported from Qatadah that *it will be a day when even an illiterate person will be able to read his book of deeds*. On this occasion, al-Isbahani has reported on the authority of Abu Umamah RA that the Noble Prophet SWS said: On the day of Qiyamah, when the book of deeds belonging to people will be given in their hand, someone will notice that *some of his good deeds were not recorded there. He will tell his Lord about the particular deeds missing from there*. HIS Lord will tell him that HE SWT had *erased* those deeds for *he used to speak ill of people on their backs*.

_Let’s often remind us about this fact; *(CMCG),* that we are *Continuously* being *Monitored* for our *Continuous Growth* and hence, keep track of our thoughts, words, and actions, and make sure that; they are *pleasing to Allah SWT*._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always do the good and make it easy for us on the Day of judgement. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
