Surah Al Mumin Ayat 10 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (11 Sep 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[40].Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) also known as Surah Ghafir [The Forgiver]

Ayat 10. Those who disbelieve will be addressed (at the time of entering into the Fire): “Allah’s aversion was greater towards you (in the worldly life when you used to reject the Faith) than your aversion towards one another (now in the Fire of Hell, as you are now enemies to one another), when you were called to the Faith but you used to refuse.”

Tafseer of Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) Ayat 10. The Unbelievers will be addressed: “Greater was the aversion of Allah to you than (is) your aversion to yourselves, seeing that ye were called to the Faith and ye used to refuse.” The Unbelievers having rejected Allah’s Signs, they now see how they are shut out from Grace, and they feel disgusted with themselves. How much greater was Allah’s displeasure with them, when He showered mercy upon mercy on them and they yet rebelled! How could they now hope for Grace!.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Any group of people that assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to study the Qur’an, tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them to those (the angels) in His proximity.”

[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 11, Hadith # 6518].

Lesson : The meaning of the Hadith is that they teach one another by discussing the Quranic sciences, and knowledge the Qur’an contains. This meaning is correct because both these acts are auspicious and are means of gaining the Pleasure of Allah. This Hadith, however, does not tell us in any way that this group of people recites the Qur’an all at once. This was not the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH).
