Surah Al Mumin Ayat 61 to 63 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (18 Oct, 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[40].Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) also known as Surah Ghafir [The Forgiver]

Ayat 61. Allah, it is He Who has made the night for you that you may rest therein and the day for you to see. Truly, Allah is full of Bounty to mankind, yet most of mankind give no thanks.

Ayat 62. That is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), where then you are turning away (from Allah, by worshipping others instead of Him)!

Ayat 63. Thus, were turned away those who used to deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah.

Tafseer of Surah Al Mumin (The Believer) 61. It is Allah Who has made the Night for you, that ye may rest therein, and the days as that which helps (you) to see. Verily Allah is full of Grace and Bounty to men: yet most men give no thanks. The succession of Day and Night in our physical life is frequently appealed to, as a symbol to draw our attention to the Mercy and Bounty of Allah. If we view these things correctly, we should serve Allah and seek Light from Him and Rest from Him, and celebrate His praises with gratitude. Ayat 62. Such is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, there is no god but He: Then how ye are deluded away from the Truth! If we worship false gods, i.e., go after vanities, what is it that deludes us and leads us astray? What could it be but our rank ingratitude and failure to use the understanding which Allah has given us? Ayat 63. Thus, are deluded those who are n’t to reject the Signs of Allah. If men are deluded by Falsehoods, it is because they reject Revelation and refuse to learn from the Signs of Allah all around them.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Zaid bin Khalid (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) led the Fajr prayer at Al-Hudaibiyah after a rainfall during the night. At the conclusion of prayer, he turned towards the people and said, “Do you know what your Rubb has said?” They replied: “Allah and His Messenger know better.” Upon this he remarked, “He has said: `Some of My slaves have entered the morning as My believers and some as unbelievers. He who said: We have had a rainfall due to the Grace and Mercy of Allah, believes in Me and disbelieves in the stars; and he who said: We have had a rainfall due to the rising of such and such star, disbelieves in Me and affirms his faith in the stars.”’

[Al-Bukhari Book 01, Chapter 12, Hadith # 807].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Mumin Ayat 62. “Where then you are turning away (from Allah, by worshipping others instead of Him)” (1). Since Allah is the Real Creator and Maker of all things and events, these should without any exception be attributed to Him Alone. If a reference is made to the cause or causes which occasion an incident or event, it is permissible but to ascribe them entirely to some factor or factors is the conduct of polytheists and amounts to Shirk and Kufr. (2). People of the Period of Ignorance used to ascribe the rain which occurred at the appearance or setting of some star, to that star and would thus accept it as the real cause of it. In this Hadith, such ascription has been regarded as Kufr and Shirk.
