Surah An Nahl – Ayah 102

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 102_*

*_Say: The Pure Spirit has brought it [the Qur’an] down from your Lord in truth, to make firm those who believe, and as guidance and glad tidings for the Muslims.(102)_*

The Ayah beautifully states the truth of the revelation of the Qur’ān and defends the Noble Prophet SAWS against the accusations of the disbelievers.‼️ Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la says to convey it those idolators by revealing _O Muhammad, it is not I who causes the abrogation. The whole thing is a revelation brought down by heavenly beings, by the command of Allah Azzawajal. I have no power to reveal or abrogate._ Those beings who ponder over the reasons and the wisdom behind abrogation in early Islam are led to a better understanding of it and to a greater firmness in it. The Qur’an was revealed gradually to the Messenger SAWS to strengthen the faith of believers, to guide them in worshiping Allah SWT, and a source of guidance in finding a happy life in this world and the hereafter.

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that *Roohul Q’uds’ (holy spirit)* is the title of Archangel Jibril(AS) (Gabriel), who is the chief of the angels and who used to bring Allah Azzawajal’s revelations to Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).‼️ _Allah Azzawajal uses the title Holy Spirit instead of name Jibril(AS), this is to warn the disbelievers that the Holy Spirit who brought revelation is free from human frailties. He is neither dishonest that he should add something to or take away something from the message he brought, nor is he a liar and forger that he should invent and state something in the name of Allah Azzawajal. Nor does he suffer from any human lust that he should practice a deceit. He is wholly pure and holy and conveys the Word of Allah Azzawajal intact._

This Ayah reminds us:

1. To trust Quran’s divine origin and it’s authority.
2. To recognise Jibril’s(AS) role.
3. To seek guidance from the Qur’an.
4. To strengthen our Imaan.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder and reflect upon the purity of the Qur’an and seek guidance from it. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
