Surah An Nahl – Ayah 103

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 103_*

*_We know full well that they say: It is but a man who teaches him. But the one to whom they point speaks a foreign tongue, whereas this is eloquent Arabic speech.(103)_*

The Ayah describes one more false propaganda of the disbelievers against the Prophet SAWS and the Noble Qur’an.‼️ The polytheists of Makkah accused the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alahi wa Sallam of receiving Qur’an lessons from someone. _According to them, the person was a foreign man, not an Arab, who always taught old testament and religious books to him._ *About who the stranger is, there is no consensus on a particular person.* Various narrations explain it and give different names. Among them there are those who say that the foreigner is a Christian Roman slave, who was cared for by Bani Hadrami. However, from the various stories, none of them can be used as a reference.

Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la answers all these fabrications with a simple, clear statement that ends all argument: _“The man to whom they so maliciously allude speaks a foreign tongue, while this is Arabic speech, pure and clear.”_

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that these type of false propaganda and evil plots will continue to exists, therefore it has been advised to recite Audhu Billah before starting to recite the Qur’an to keep away from all whisperings.‼️ *These disbelievers were fully aware of the merits of the Qur’ān and its literary excellence.* How could they claim that a man speaking a foreign tongue could have taught it to Muĥammad SAWS. If such a man could have produced such a masterpiece, why would he not claim it for himself, without teaching it to another?

The Ayah reminds us to

1. To recognise the questions and statements of people who oppose Islam and it must be accompanied by providing appropriate and suitable answers to them with reference to Qur’an and Seerah.

2. We must be aware of the impact of the enemies’ widespread propaganda so that there will be no problems in our faith and our belief in the Quran. We must try to eliminate any confusion with logical and correct answers.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la strengthen our Imaan and grant us the ability to understand and learn the Qur’an. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
