Surah An Nahl – Ayah 41

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 41_*

*_To those who migrated in the cause of Allah after having been wronged, We will surely grant them good in this world, and verily the reward of the hereafter will be greater, if only they knew.(41)_*

Allahﷻ tells us about the reward of those who migrated for HIS sake, seeking HIS pleasure.‼️ *The initial batch of believers in Makkah were being persecuted in various ways by the idolaters, who were not prepared to allow freedom of conscience and religion to the Muslims.* _Having been compelled by brutal oppression and in order to preserve their faith a number of Muslims migrated to Ethiopia(Abyssinia)._ The first caravan comprised of fifteen persons, including four ladies. Subsequently their number reached to eighty-three. These were the people who migrated, leaving their homes, abandoning all property and belongings, sacrificing an easy life with their own peoples and communities. *They only sought Allah’sﷻ reward.* When they experienced tyranny and injustice, they left their homeland in order to live a life of obedience to Allahﷻ. _Hence, Allahﷻ promises them in return for the loss of their homes something that they will like._ Hence they were given *two rewards*: *1)Reward in this world* in the form of abundant provision and a life of ease that they saw with their own eyes, after they migrated, prevailed over their enemies, conquered new lands, acquired immense booty from them and became wealthy; Allahﷻ gave them good things in this world. *And the second Reward* will be much greater than the reward of this world and it is verily the reward of the hereafter which Allahﷻ has promised them on the lips of His Messengerﷺ.

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that One of the commandments in Islam is to *migrate(Hijrah)* in the way of Allah Azzawajal in order to maintain religion, faith, and family safety.‼️ *A believer should not get lost in a cruel society or allow himself to be insulted and oppressed. He must fight the tyranny or leave the place to keep his faith.* As did the Prophetﷺ and the Muslims who migrated from Makkah to Madina. The Prophetﷺ and his companions were patient in facing various difficulties and problems, and relied on Allah SWT.

–Let’s understand several kinds of Hijrah:

(i) From the land of the unbelievers to the land of Islam; this becomes obligatory when it is not possible to follow Islam even in important affairs.

(ii) From the land of innovations (dar al-bid`ah). Imam Malik has written that it is not allowed to live in a place where pious scholars of the past are insulted following the rule that if you cannot remove wrongs, remove yourself from the wrongs.

(iii) From a place where the unlawful is overwhelmingly prevalent.

(iv) To escape persecution

(v) For reasons of health

(vi) To save one’s wealth – if it is threatened.

–Let’s remind ourselves about
1. Allah Azzawajal’s care and support for those who suffer for HIS sake.
2. The value of perseverance and trust in the face of adversity.
3. The ultimate reward and triumph of those who migrate for Allah Azzawajal’s cause.
4. The relationship between trials, trust, and triumph.
5. The importance of keeping the ultimate reward in mind amidst challenges.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la strengthen our Imaan and grant us HIS help in safeguarding our Imaan. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
