Surah As-Saffat Ayat 158 & 159 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (31 May 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[37].Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks)

Ayat 158. And they have developed a kinship among Allah and the jinn, but the jinn know well that they have definitely to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts).

Ayat 159. Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him!

Tafseer of Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks) Ayat 158. And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment- Seat)! The angels are at least pure beings engaged in the service of Allah. But the Pagan superstitions not only connect them with Allah as daughters but even connect Allah by relationship with all kinds of spirits, good or evil! In some mythologies the evilest powers are gods or goddesses as if they belonged to the family of Allah the Creator and had some semblance of equality with Him! This, too, is repudiated in the strongest terms. For Jinns see 6:100. Ayat 159. Glory to Allah. (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)!

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said: “Glorify your Lord in Ruku` (bowing posture) and exert yourself in supplication in prostration. Thus, your supplications are liable to be recognized.”

[Muslim Book 004, Chapter 37, Hadith # 970]

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “A seeker becomes nearest to his Rubb when he is in prostration. So, increase supplications while prostrating.”

[Muslim Book 004, Chapter 37, Hadith # 979]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah As-Saffat Ayat 159. Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! ” Both the Hadith mentioned above, evidently show that there is greater possibility of acceptance of an invocation which is made in prostration. Therefore, one must do it in the voluntary Salat.
