Surah Ibrahim – Ayah 15 & 16

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Ibrahim Ayat 15 & 16_*

*_[The Messengers] sought victory and help [from Allah], and every obstinate tyrant met with frustration.(15)_*

*_Ahead of him is hell, and he will be given putrid water to drink.(16)_*

The Ayat describe the wretched end of the obstinate tyrant when the help from Supreme power of Allah Azzawajal takes its course.‼️ When the Messengers completed their task of delivering the message and those who defiantly persisted in disbelief became a separate group continuing their opposition to the fullest to the true faith. The word *“istaftahu” اسْتَفْتَحُوْا* means *to seek victory*. And the meaning that the majority of scholars have derived is, (having lost all hopes of acceptance) the Messengers sought judgment and victory over their unbelieving nations by praying to Allah Azzawajal. The word *Jabbar جَبَّارٍ* When used for a human being is for that haughty man who does not believe that anyone has any right on him. _Both parties pray for victory, and the result is as expected and ultimately the help of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la descends with the pious and the disbelievers are punished both in this world with a humiliating defeat and in the hereafter with a permanent life of hell._

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand and learn that the ultimate weapon of the believer is resorting to Dua and seeking help from Allah Azzawajal whose promise is true and will be fulfilled.‼️ *This is a remarkable scene showing every hardened despot ending up in failure in this life on earth.* As he takes his position of miserable failure, hell is looming large behind him. *The image of this horrifying punishment sends shivers down our spine.* _If man gives a serious thought, his heart would definitely melt and he would be anxious to seek out ways of saving himself from the punishment of the Hell._

— *It should be noted that the severity of the punishment is matched with the depravity of the crime.* Their beliefs were filthy, their deeds were filthy, and they used to eat and have filthy food and property. They deserved, therefore, to get as a punishment, a filthy thing like pus to drink.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us patience and perseverance in the path of Deen and save us and grant us victory over every arrogant tyrant. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen_*
