Surah Ibrahim – Ayah 5

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah Ibrahim Ayah 5_*

*_”And verily We sent Musa with Our Signs, saying, ‘Bring out your people from darkness to light and remind them of the days of Allah.’ Indeed, in that are signs for everyone patient and thankful”.(5)_*

_’Days of Allah’; the days when Allah’s mercy was specially shown to Israelites, (refer S2:A30-61 and other places in Qur’an) in great detail. Everyday and every hour and minute, Allah’s Grace flows to us abundantly, but there are special events in personal and national history which may be commemorated as Red-letter Days._

_Those historical events are Signs in this sense that *their proper and intelligent study provides proofs of the fact that ‘THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD’ ;* and that the ‘Law of Retribution’ is universal and is based absolutely on the differentiation between the knowledge and moral practice of the Truth and falsehood. And that this Law also requires another world *(THE HEREAFTER)* for its due fulfilment._

*Act for the Day is:* _To understand and “to Learn lessons and receive the guidance from Allah SWT about HIS Signs in the Universe and the historical events of rise and fall of nations‼️._ *But from such a guidance only those can benefit who have the qualities of patience and gratefulness in them:* _patience for persevering in the hope of receiving reward from Allah Azzawajal for bearing all sufferings in HIS path , and gratefulness for having received from Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la the blessing of HIS religion and the provision of spiritual tranquility that has been provided.._

–To pay attention to the word used in this Ayah is: *Qawm* while asking Prophet Musa AS to bring his people from darkness into the light. But, when this very subject was taken up in the first Ayah of this particular Surah by addressing the Prophet SAWS the word: *qawm* was not used there.❗ Instead, used there was the word: *An-Nas* that you may take the people [that is, the human’ beings out of [all sorts ofl darkness into the light). _Implied here is the sense that the Divinely ordained mission of Prophet Musa AS as a prophet was only for his people, the Bani Israel, and for others in Egypt while the coming of the Noble Prophet SAWS was destined for the human beings of the entire world._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to remain patient and thankful for all the blessings we have received from HIM. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
