Surah Nahl – Ayah 4

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 4_*

*خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ نُّطۡفَۃٍ فَاِذَا ہُوَ خَصِیۡمٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ*
*_”He created man from a minute quantity of semen, then behold he is clear opponent.”(4)_*

اس نے انسان کو ایک ذرا سی بوند سے پیدا کیا اور دیکھتے دیکھتے صریحا وہ ایک جھگڑالو ہستی بن گیا .(4)

_Man’s physical origin is lowly. Yet do men go back to material things, and neglect or dispute about the highest things in Life._

_This has two meanings and both are meant here;_
_1) Though Allah created man from ‘Nutfah’ (an insignificant mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), he is capable of arguing and giving reasons in support of his claim._
_(2) Man who has such an insignificant origin, has become so vain that he does not hesitate to dispute even with his Creator._

Allah Azzawajal mentions how man was created from nothing but a microscopic sperm, which is not even visible, and yet he grows into a creature who argues about the very being that created Him from this miniscule little drop of fluid – *he disputes about Allah SWT, HIS attributes, or any other aspect of Islam, to avoid submitting to Him* – the Creator who not just created him, but also gave him provision since day one to make him grow, acquire a physical form, then be blessed with sight, hearing, and intellect.

*_“Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him. So We gave him Hearing and Sight.” [76:2]_*

_Everything in Creation proclaims the glory of Allah Azzawajal. To man is given dominion over Nature, that man may recognise Allah’s Unity and Allah’s Truth, (Refer S16:A1-25)._

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To ponder upon our Origin, Birth and Status.‼️ It is meant to warn us that we should not forget the insignificant origin of our existence while engaged in our rebellious arguments against our Creator._
_If we remembered the different stages of our humiliating birth and growth, we would consider many times before we assumed a haughty and rebellious attitude towards our Creator._

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to remain humble and Guide all of us to the Right Path._*
