Surah Suad Ayat 16 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (13 June 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[38].Surah Suad

Ayat 16. They (Pagans of Makkah) say: “Our Lord! Haste to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we see it) before the Day of Reckoning!”

Tafseer of Surah Suad Ayat 16. They say: “Our Lord! Hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!” Cf. 26:204. Those who do not believe in the Hereafter say ironically: “Let us have our punishment and sentence now: why delay it?” The last verse and the next verse supply the commentary. As to those who mock, they will find out the truth soon enough, when it is too late for repentance or mercy. As to the prophets of Allah, who are mocked, they must wait patiently for Allah to fulfil His Plan: even men who had worldly strength and power, like David, had to exercise infinite patience when mocked by their contemporaries.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: I said: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ  [SAWW](PBUH)! We consider Jihad as the best deed, should we not then go for Jihad?” The Messenger of Allah   [SAWW](PBUH) said, “The best Jihad for you women is Hajj Mabrur (i.e., one accepted by Allah).”

[Al-Bukhari Book 02, Chapter 26, Hadith # 595].

Lesson: This Hadith brings out the following points:

1. Hajj is compulsory once in a lifetime for those who have the means for it.

2. Unnecessary questioning is disliked.

3. Those who believe in Allah and His Prophet ﷺ  [SAWW](PBUH) are required to do what they are ordained and abstain from what they are forbidden.
