Surah Yaseen Ayat 68 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (24 April 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[36].Surah Yaseen [Yaseen]

Ayat 68. And he whom Allah grants long life, Allah reverses him in creation (weakness after strength like a little child). Will they not then understand?

Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 68. If Allah grants long life to any, Allah causes him to be reversed in nature: Will they not then understand? This connects on with the last verse. Everything is possible with Allah. If you doubt how man can be transformed from his present nature, contemplate the transformations he already undergoes in his present nature at different ages. As a child, his powers of mind and body are still undeveloped. As he grows, they grow, and certain moral qualities, such as courage, daring, the will to conquer, unfold themselves. In extreme old age these are again obscured, and a second childhood supervenes. The back of the man who walked proudly straight and erect is now bent. If the transformations take place even in his present nature and constitution, how much easier was it for Allah to cast him in an immobile mould? But Allah granted him instead the high possibilities and responsibilities.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Hasten to do good deeds before you are overtaken by one of the seven afflictions.” Then (giving a warning) he said, “Are you waiting for poverty which will make you unmindful of devotion, or prosperity which will make you corrupt, or a disease which will disable you, or (old age) senility which will make you mentally unstable, or sudden death which will take you all of a sudden, or Ad-Dajjal who is the worst expected, or the Hour; and the Hour will be most grievous and most bitter.”

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2306].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Yaseen Ayat 68. And he whom Allah grants long life, Allah reverses him in creation (weakness after strength like a little child),” The Hadith focuses on seven things which hold back man from the virtuous path. Taking in consideration the turning health and the brief span of life to his account, he is, therefore, apt to gather up good deeds for the Hereafter because an untoward situation may confront him any moment and render him unable to do good things to his benefit in the otherworldly life.
