Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 46 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (07, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 46. Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his own self, and whosoever does evil, it is against his own self, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) servants.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 46. Whoever works righteousness benefits his own soul in this world and hereafter; whoever works evil, it is against his own soul and destroys his life in the hereafter, and your Lord Allah is ever unjust (in the least) to His Servants.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Masud Uqbah bin Amr Al-Ansari Al-Badri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW]((PBUH)  said, “Whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to him who practices that good action”. [Muslim].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 46. Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his own self, and whosoever does evil, it is against his own self”

The statement quoted in this Hadith was made by the Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) when, on a certain occasion, someone requested him to give an animal for riding. The Prophet ﷺ (PBUH) replied that he did not have any. A man who was present there said that he could show him the man who could help him in the matter. This is how the Prophet ﷺ  [SAWW](PBUH) revealed the reward of directing people to good deeds, which is mentioned in this Hadith.

Surah Al Isra – Ayah 3

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah Al-Isra Ayah 3_*

*_”(They were) Offsprings of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nuh (PBUH). Indeed, he was a greatful slave.”(3)_*

_After the Deluge of the time of Noah A.S., the only descendants of Noah A.S., were those who were saved in the Ark with him. They had special reason to celebrate the praises of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la. But they relapsed into idolatry, sin and abomination. They are reminded of the True and sincere devotion of Noah A.S., himself, as contrasted with the unworthiness of Noah’s (PBUH) descendants, especially the Children of Israel._

_This ayah, being addressed to the descendants of Previous Prophets, as; *”You are the descendants of Noah and his companions;”* therefore, you should behave in a manner as behoves such people. You should make Allah Azzawajal Alone your Guardian, for your ancestors escaped death from the flood only because they had made Allah Azzawajal their Guardian.”_ (Please read S17:A2-A10 also to understand about the rewards (twice) and punishment (twice) of the Children of Israel).

*_Act for the Day is:_* to understand the reasons for mentioning Prophet Nuh Alahis salam here in the Ayah is to remind the whole humanity as Prophet Nuh(AS) is the second father of entire humanity after Prophet Adam(AS) and he is being described as a monotheistic and a grateful slave. ‼️ Therefore the fundamental belief of our forefathers is Tawheed hence they shouldn’t make excuses for their deviation away from Tawheed.

–To always remain grateful to Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la for all HIS favours and blessings. *Prophet Nuh لسَّلَامُ عَلَيْهِ is being described as a grateful slave as he always praised Allah ﷻ when eating, drinking, dressing, and in all his actions.* _The lesson that we can take from the story of Prophet Nuh عَلَيْهِ ٍلَسَّلَامُ is that he and his followers were saved because he was very grateful to Allah ﷻ. So if we want to be safe, we should always be grateful for the blessings of Allah ﷻ and show gratitude verbally as well as through our Obedience._

Imam Ahmad reported that Anas bin Malik said: “The Messenger of Allah SAWS said:

*_“Allah will be pleased with HIS servant if, when he eats something or drinks something, he praises Allah for it.”_* (This was also recorded by Muslim, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa’i. Muslim 4:2095)

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always remain grateful to HIM through our Obedience and gain HIS pleasure. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 45 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (06, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 45. And indeed, We gave Musa AS (Moses) the Scripture, but a dispute arose therein. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, (the torment would have overtaken them) and the matter would have been settled between them. But truly, they are in grave doubt thereto (i.e. about the Qur’an).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 45. We certainly gave Moses the Book aforetime: but disputes arose therein. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (their differences) would have been settled between them: but they remained in suspicious disquieting doubt thereon. Callousness and self-sufficiency in religion are often illustrated by sects like the Pharisees and Sadducees among the Jews. Where there are honest differences of opinion, they can, in Allah’s Plan, lead to greater enquiry and emulation. Where the differences are fractious, there is often even then time left for repentance. In any case the Word or Decree of Allah is for the best good of all, and should not disturb Faith. Cf. 10:19. A good life, of faith and truth, is in our own interests, and the opposite against our own interests. Allah is never unjust.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Saeed & Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Never a believer is stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry or even the pricking of a thorn but Allah will expiate his sins on account of his patience”.

[Al-Bukhari Book 07, Chapter 70, Hadith # 545]

Lesson : This Hadith mentions the special Grace and Mercy of Allah for the Muslims. It relates how Allah turns the hardships and troubles suffered by a Muslim into a means of expiation for his sins. But this is only possible if the believer exercises patience. However, if he starts wailing instead of showing patience then besides suffering hardships, he would be deprived of the reward which lies in bearing them patiently. Thus, he shall have to take the burden of additional sins also

Surah Al Isra – Ayah 2

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Isra Ayah 2_*

*_We gave Moosa the Book, and made it a guide for the Children of Israel, [saying]: Do not take any other than Me as a disposer of affairs.(2)_*

After Allah Azzawajal mentions how HE SWT took HIS servant Muhammad SAWS, on the Journey by Night, HE SWT follows it by mentioning Musa(AS), HIS servant and Messenger who also spoke with HIM. Allah Azzawajal often mentions Muhammad SAWS and Musa(AS) together, and HE SWT mentions the Tawrah and the Qur’an together.‼️ *The divine Sunnah throughout history has been to guide society to Tawheed and servitude.* _Therefore, before the Prophet Muhammad SAWS was sent, Allah Azzawajal sent Prophet Musa(AS) to the Children of Israel. Prophet Musa(AS.) based on the Torah revealed by Allah Azzawajal, invited the Children of Israel to guidance and warned them not to take anyone besides Allahﷻ as their vakil._

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that Allah Azzawajal will not inflict punishment on any community unless HE SWT sends them first a messenger to warn and remind them.‼️ This makes clear the primary purpose of giving the book to Musa(AS). It serves as a source of guidance and warns them that they should not take anyone else other than Allah Azzawajal as their *Vakeel(Guardian)*. This is the essence of Imaan. Anyone who seeks a guardian other than Allah Azzawajal is misguided and devoid of true faith.

–To understand that this Ayah serves as a reminder to the Quraysh who were doubting the authenticity of Prophet SAWS that the earlier to this previous Prophets had been sent with the Book and with the same task of calling people to Tawheed. If they reject this prophet Muhammad SAWS then they will also receive the punishment as Bani Israel.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to put our complete Trust in HIM as HE SWT is our Maula and the Best protector. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 44 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (05, Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 44. And if We had sent this as a Qur’an in a foreign language other than Arabic, they would have said: “Why aren’t its Verses explained in detail (in our language)? What! (A Book) not in Arabic and (the Messenger) an Arab?” Say: “It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing. And as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness (deafness) in their ears, and it (the Qur’an) is blindness for them. They are those who are called from a place far away (so they neither listen nor understand).

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 44. Had Allah sent this as a Qur´an (in the language) other than Arabic, they would have said: “Why aren’t its verses explained in detail? What! (A Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?” Say: “It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!” Cf. 16:103-105; 12:2; etc. It was most natural and reasonable that the Messenger being Arab, the Message should be in his own tongue, that he might explain it in every detail, with the greatest power and eloquence. Even though it was to be for the whole world, its initial exposition was thus to be in Arabic. But if people had no faith and were spiritually deaf or blind, it would not matter in what language it came. Cf. 41:5, and 6:25. They pretended that it was too deep for them, when they meant that they were superior to it! The fact was that by putting themselves in an artificially false position, they rendered themselves impervious to the Message. The voice of Revelation or the voice of conscience sounded to them as if it came from a far-off place! They themselves made themselves strangers to it.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ (PBUH) said, “He who does not memorize any part from the Qur’an he is like the ruined house.”

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2913].

Lesson: This Hadith means that the heart of that Muslim is devoid of grace of spiritualism and Grace of Allah who does not remember by heart any portion of the Qur’an, in the same way as a deserted house is deprived of inhabitants and Blessings of Allah. What we learn from this is that every Muslim must remember some portion of the Qur’an so that he is safe from the admonition mentioned in this Hadith.

Surah Al Isra – Ayah 1

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Al-Isra Ayah 1_*

*_Glory be to Him Who took His slave for a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Distant Mosque, the environs of which We have blessed, so that We might show him some of Our signs. Verily He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.(1)_*

This Ayah describes the miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah to the Distant Mosque in Jerusalem, also known as Al-Aqsa Mosque this is the first stage.‼️ As for the second stage in which the Prophet SAWS was carried to *‘Sidratul Muntaha’* located in the seventh heaven, it has been narrated in the Surah An-Najm

*This journey, known as Isra wal Mi’raj, was a turning point in the Prophet’s life and a testament to Allah Azzawajal’s power and wisdom.*

_According to the Ayah, Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la took HIS servant on this journey to show him some of HIS signs, emphasizing HIS ability to do anything HE SWT wills. The verse also highlights Allah Azzawajal’s attributes as All-Hearing and All-Seeing, emphasizing HIS omniscience and omnipotence._

*_Act of the Day is:_* to understand that this journey of the Prophet SAWS was physical and it was undertaken in a state of wakefulness.‼️ _The distance between Baitul Maqdis and Makkah is about 1000 miles. In those days this journey took about 40 days to cover this distance, but Allah Azzawajal arranged for the Prophet SAWS to cover it within a night. In the hadith it is mentioned that the Prophet SAWS rode a *‘Buraq’,* and Archangel Jibril was with him, that is this journey was covered on a carrier of lightning-speed._

To understand that the Ayah starts with the word *سبحان Subhan* means *Exalted or perfect*. Therefore it is not beyond the power of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la to arrange for such a miraculous journey. Those who consider such a thing impossible are under a wrong impression about Allah Azzawajal’s might. As for the objective of this journey, it is stated in the ayah that Allah Azzawajal wanted to show some of HIS signs to HIS Prophet. By the signs are meant those signs which are found in the Aqsa Mosque, and which reflect on monotheism, worship of only one God, the common dawah of the prophets, and their struggle for the religion of truth, the history of the rise and fall of Bani Israil, and Allah Azzawajal’s law of reward and punishment.

From this Ayah there are four lessons that can be learned:

1. Allah Azzawajal calls Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with the title of *’His servant’ بِعَبْدِهٖ* instead of the title Rasool or prophet. This shows one can attain this honour of being called a servant of Allah through his obedience as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the most noble human being and Allah ﷻ used the word ‘servant’ for him, then that means the status of ‘servant of Allah Azzawajal’ is the highest status for humans.

2. Night is the best time to get closer to Allah Azzawajal by way of praying Tahajjud. Therefore, worshiping and asking for forgiveness at night gets more attention in Islam.

3. The mosque is the best launching pad for believers towards spirituality.

4. Masjidul Aqsa is a holy place that must be guarded by Muslims.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to gain HIS closeness through our acts of Obedience. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 43 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (04th Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 43. Nothing is said to you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) except what was said to the Messengers before you. Verily, your Lord is the Possessor of forgiveness, and (also) the Possessor of painful punishment.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 43. Nothing is said to thee that was not said to the messengers before thee: that thy lord has at his Command (all) forgiveness as well as a most Grievous Penalty. The gist of Allah’s Message, now, before, and forever, is the same: Mercy to the erring and repentant; just punishment to those who willfully rebel against Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: We were talking about the Farewell Pilgrimage without knowing what was it when Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) was also present. He ﷺ (PBUH) stood up and recited the Praise and Glorification of Allah. He then gave a detailed account of Ad-Dajjal and said, ‘Every Prophet sent by Allah had warned his people against his mischief. Nuh (AS) )warned his nation and so did all the Prophets after him. If he (i.e., Ad-Dajjal) appears among you, his condition will not remain hidden from you. Your Rubb is not one-eyed, but Ad-Dajjal is. His right eye is protruding like a swollen grape. Listen, Allah has made your blood, and your properties as inviolable as of this day of yours (i.e., the Day of Sacrifice), in this city of yours (i.e., Makkah), in this month of yours (i.e., Dhul -Hijjah). Listen, have I conveyed Allah’s Message to you?” The people replied in affirmative. There upon he said, “O Allah, bear witness.” And he repeated it thrice. He (PBUH) concluded: “Do not revert after me as infidels killing one another”.

[Al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 553].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 43. Nothing is said to you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) except what was said to the Messengers before you” This Hadith brings out the following three points:

1. Some marks and signs of pseudo-Messiah (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal) are mentioned to warn the believers against his mischief.

2. The lives and properties of Muslims are inviolable for each other. In other words, it means that each of them is a protector and guardian of the life, property and honor of the other.

3. Internal war among the Muslims is a great crime and can even lead to infidelity (Kufr). May Allah save us all from it.

Introduction to Surah Al Isra

*_A Brief introduction to Surah Al-Isra(Bani Israil)_*

Surah Al-Isra is the 17th surah (chapter) of The Glorious Quran. Name of the surah means *The Night Journey.* It has 111 Ayaat (verses) and was revealed in the holy city of Makkah i.e., before Prophet ﷺ migrated to the city of Medina. This surah can be found in juz / paara 15.

*This Surah takes its name (Bani Israil) from Ayah 4.* But this name is merely a distinctive appellation like the names of many other surahs and not a descriptive title, and does not mean that “Bani Isra’il” is the theme of this Surah.

*_Period of Revelation:_*
The very first Ayah indicates that this Surah was revealed on the occasion of *Miraaj (Ascension).* According to the Traditions and books on the life of the Noble Prophetﷺ, this event happened one year before Hijrah. Thus, this Surah is one of those which were revealed.

*_Theme and Topics:_*
This Surah is a wonderful combination of warning, admonition and instruction, which have been blended together in a balanced proportion.‼️ *The disbelievers of Makkah had been admonished to take a lesson from the miserable end of the Israelites and other communities and mend their ways within the period of respite given by Allāh Azzawajal, which was about to expire*. They should, therefore, accept the invitation that was being extended by Muḥammad ﷺ and the Qurʾān; otherwise they shall be annihilated and replaced by other people. *Incidentally, the Israelites, with whom Islam was going to come in direct contact in the near future at Al-Madinah have also been warned that they should learn a lesson from the chastisements that have already been inflicted on them.* _They were warned, “Take advantage of the Prophethood of Muḥammad ﷺ because that is the last opportunity which is being given to you. If even now you behave as you have been behaving, you shall meet with a painful torment_.

*_The Major Issues focussed in the Surah:_*

–Isra’ & Divine Commandments:
—Worship none but Allah
—Be kind and obedient to parents
—Give to relatives and the needy
—Do not be a miser or a spendthrift
–Do not kill your children for fear of poverty
—Do not commit adultery
—Do not slay without just cause
—Do not say anything without knowledge
—Do not walk arrogantly on earth
—Safeguard the property of orphans
—Allah Azzawajal does not beget children and those who say this, utter a monstrous lie.
—There is a life after death.
—The obligation of Five Daily Prayers and the prayer of Tahajjud (special late night prayer).
–Human Rasools are sent to human beings.
–Perform Salah in a voice which is neither too loud nor too soft.

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to ponder, reflect and take benefit from the Ayaat and gain HIS pleasure through our Obedience. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*

Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 42 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (03rd Dec 2024)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]

Ayat 42. (And verily, it is an honorable respected Book Al-Quran) Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it (it is) sent down by (Allah SWT) the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 42. No falsehood can approach it from before or behind it: It is sent down by One Full of Wisdom. Worthy of all Praise. Allah’s Truth is fully guarded on all sides. No one can get the better of it by attacking it from before or behind it, openly or secretly, or in any way whatever.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Any matter of importance which is not begun with Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) remains defective.”

[Abu Dawud Hadith # 4840].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah Ayat 42. “(Allah SWT) the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise” There is another Hadith to the effect that every important work which is not started with the invocation “Bismillah” is devoid of Allah’s Grace, it is desirable to begin every good work with the Glorious Name of Allah and His Praise.

Surah An Nahl – Ayah 128

*_Today’s Thought for the day comes from Surah An-Nahl Ayah 128_*

*_”Indeed Allah is with those Who fear (Him), And those who are good-doers”.(128)_*

*This is the last Ayah of Surah An-Nahl.* _It is the highest consolation which the righteous men (man/women) can receive – *’The assurance that Allah Azzawajal is with them’.‼️* For such a high honour for *’Allah Azzawajal to be with them’;* A double qualification is indicated for so high a honour;_
_1) That they should not yeild to human passion or anger or impatience, and;_
_2) That they should go on continuously doing good all around them._

_*”Allah Azzawajal is with those who fear HIM”* (It is the Fear of losing Love or upset the one whom you Love, not the fear of fearful/scary) and because they scrupulously refrain from evil ways and always adopt the righteous attitude, for they know that their actions and deeds are not determined by the evils others do to them, but by their own sense of righteousness; so they return good for evil._

*_Act for the Day is:_* _To understand *’To Attain the Presence of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la’* in the sense of *”I am with you”* is the culmination of the righteous man’s aspiration._

_Let’s grow this desire in our hearts and do our best to achieve this qualification, *because Allah Azzawajal is with those who live in self-restraint A pure, good, and righteous Life.*_

*_We ask Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la to make us among those who fear HIM and do good. This is the end of the commentary on Surah An-Nahl. All praise and thanks are for Allah Azzawajal, and May the blessings and peace of Allah Azzawajal be upon Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alahi wa Sallam his family, and his Companions abundantly until the Day of Judgement._*

*_May Allah Azzawajal accept this humble attempt and forgive the mistakes and shortcomings. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen._*
