Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 43 Daily Qur’an & Hadith (04 May 2023)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[28].Surah Al-Qasas [The Narration]

Ayat 43. And indeed, We gave Musa AS (Moses), after We had destroyed the generations of old, the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)] as enlightenment for mankind, and guidance and a mercy, that they might remember (or receive admonition).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qasas (The Narration) Ayat 43. We did reveal to Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations, (to give) Insight to men, and guidance and Mercy, that they might receive admonition. After the destruction of the Pharaonic Tyranny and other similar Tyrannies before them, Allah began a new age of Revelation, the age of Moses and his Book. Humanity began as it were with a clean slate again. It was a full Revelation (or Shariah) which may be looked at from three points of view: (1) as Light or Insight for men, so that they should not grope in darkness; (2) as a Guide to show them the Way, so that they should not be misled into wrong Paths; and (3) as a Mercy from Allah, so that by following the Way they may receive Allah’s Forgiveness and Grace. In 6:91, we have a reference to Light and Guidance in connection with the Revelation of Moses, and in 6:154 we have a reference to Guidance and Mercy in the same connection. Here all three are combined, with the substitution of Basair fosr Nur. Basair is the plural of Basirah, and also translated Proofs, as I have done in 6:104 also 7:203, where the word is translated “Lights’ ‘.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) said, “Everyone will be raised in the condition in which he dies”.

[Muslim Book 40, Chapter 19, Hadith # 6878]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 43. “We had destroyed the generations of old” This Hadith signifies that if a person dies performing good deeds, he will have a good end; and the one who dies in misdeeds, he will come to a bad end. It is, therefore, necessary that one should always avoid disobedience of Divine injunctions, especially in old age and illness because one may fall in the clutches of death at any time.
