Surah Ibrahim – Ayah 23

*_Today’s Thought for the day is from Surah Ibrahim Ayah 23_*

*_But those who believe and do righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens through which rivers flow, to abide therein forever by their Lord’s leave. Their greeting therein will be: Peace.(23)_*

The Ayah describes the reward of those true believers who have won the battle against the shaitan and his whisperings and completely trusted and obeyed Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la and followed HIS Deen and commands.‼️ *They will be admitted to gardens(Jannah) through which rivers flow in which they will find all the pleasures that they could desire, such as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and it has never crossed the mind of man to abide therein forever by their Lord’s leave that is, not by their own strength and power, but by the strength and power of Allah Azzawajal.*

_On the authority of Jabir(RA), he said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: “None of your deeds will bring him into Paradise, nor will it save him from Hell, nor will I, except by the mercy of Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la.(Muslim 2817)_

Their the inhabitants of Jannah will hear the greetings of peace from all sides and they will greet one another with salam and kind words.

*_Act of the Day is;_* to imagine the contrasting picture on one side the inhabitants of hell are being punished severely for their misdeeds and recieving curses from all sides and on the other side the inhabitants of Jannah are welcomed with greetings of peace(Salaam) from all sides.‼️ The word *tahiyyah* is literally a *prayer for long life,* but in usage it is a greeting at meeting, it also means *prosperity from all disasters.* _For those of us who still live in this world, Islam teaches us to use the greeting *”Assalamu’alaikum”* which means *May you always be in prosperity”*_ This is the best teaching to educate people to be willing and happy when others get happiness and well-being, just as they themselves feels happy when they get that happiness and well-being, and it keeps away from envy and jealousy.

Expecting other people to get misery or loss and expecting the disappearance of happiness or goodness from someone is a trait that is very hated in Islam.

In this connection, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

_None of you believes until he desires for his brother what he desires for himself. (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of Anas bin Malik.)_

*_May Allah Subhanahu wa taa’la grant us the ability to always do good and allow us to enter the abode of Peace. Aa’meen Ya’Rabbul Aa’lameen_*
